Chapter 240: A Big Purchase

The undead gathering’s first round of transactions had concluded.

Cang Xu also saw that the transactions with each other was not equal, simply put, it was Jian Gui playing with the others.

Jian Gui controlled unrivalled resources. Regardless of whether it was soul or memory crystals, the other necromancers rushed like ducks for them, they were things they needed.

Jian Gui monopolized these resources; therefore, he naturally held the dominant position.

In light of his power and resources, he could completely depress the prices and cheaply acquire the others’ common resources.

But Jian Gui didn’t do this, he traded based on market value, and even a bit cheaper than market value.

“It’s no wonder these people respect Jian Gui so much.” Cang Xu’s thoughts flashed.

This kind of respect had a reason, every undead was shown consideration by Jian Gui, Jian Gui was a gold level; he was the strongest and monopolized resources.

Ku Feng said, “The second round of transactions begins, following the established order.”

This time, Cang Xu immediately asked for soul crystals.

Both he and Zi Di urgently needed them.

Jian Gui was winning to supply them at the previous price.

Cang Xu bought two hundred soul crystals.

Jian Gui laughed, “Oh ho ho, I didn’t expect such a big customer, I only brought so many, I don’t have any more now.”

It wasn’t that Cang Xu didn’t want to buy more, rather Jian Gui only had so many on him.

Everyone was surprised.

“Newcomer, I have a whole new level of respect for you, you are wealthy!” Xiao Wang Zi bluntly stated, to purchase ten soul crystals, he had painstakingly saved or a year.

Qi Ling gave an indistinct look but remained silent.

Qing Xin looked pensive.

Ku Feng clicked his tongue and guessed, “It seems during the battle for Two Eyes Island, you dredged out longs of treasures from the seafloor?”

Cang Xu humbly nodded and candidly admitted, “Indeed.”

Qing Xin’s eyes flashed and her heart shook, startled by Cang Xu’s plunder. Because that was the wealth of an entire island, and she didn’t know how much of it Cang Xu had fished up.

Cang Xu admitting this was intended.

The survivors considered Hun Tong’s reaction, and it was likely the latter would launch an investigation and pursuit. Therefore, Cang Xu decided to admit it here to leave behind a trail.

Because after this undead gathering ended, Weeping Pine Island would have a naval battle, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps would be victorious, and the Iron Lump would join their fleet. The necromancer Cang Xu would also “die in battle”, while actually using the name of “Lao Zhong” to return to everyone else.

Thus, the treasures the survivors secretly salvaged could be washed clean.

The Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps would get spoils of war that surpassed imagination, and according to imperial law, Hun Tong couldn’t respond with force to it.

The survivors could even give the antiques and other things to Hun Tong if Hun Tong gave them a suitable bid.

The second round of transactions continued.

Xiao Wang Zi shouted and stood up, “Lord Jian Gui, did you make the thing I ordered?”

Jian Gui nodded, “You pretty lucky, more than a month ago, I killed an incautious water path magician and made a water casting memory crystal.”

Xiao Wang Zi jumped up happily, “That’s wonderful! If that happened, my ‘generalissimo’ will get much stronger.”

He wanted to give the memory crystal to his mount, the three headed sea serpent.

After the three headed sea serpent had become undead, its memory had almost completely dissipated, thus it couldn’t use its water path racial magics. During battle, it could only serve as a meat shield and a mount.

Jian Gui reminded, “You will look at the memory crystal’s contents well. If it is not to your satisfaction, I can adjust it a bit for you right now. But not by much, only in a few subtle ways.”

When Cang Xu heard this, his heart had a thought, “It seems that Jian Gui possesses a memory crystal making device and has some methods of altering memories.”

The survivors also had a memory crystal making device in their inventory.

“If I could trade for those things, that would be splendid.” Cang Xu was merely daydreaming, and didn’t have a practical plan to implement.

Transaction requests couldn’t be made wantonly, because it would subsequently reveal many things.

If Cang Xu put forth such a request, perhaps everyone would be wondering if he had a memory making device on him?

The second round of transactions quickly finished.

Cang Xu obtained many soul crystals.

Xiao Wang Zi obtained a memory crystal.

Qi Ling and Ku Feng did a trade, she obtained Weeping Pine Island’s special wood, It was good material to make ships out of.

Ku Feng wanted to buy a weapon, and Jian Gui stated he didn’t have any.

Xiao Wang Zi giggled and declared arrogantly, “I have one!”

Cang Xu easily guessed that Ku Feng would make such a request during this gathering.

As a result, Xiao Wang Zi had intentionally made a white bone cutlass that reached silver level quality.

This caused Cang Xu to secretly have more respect for Xiao Wang Zi, “He was the one who made the Eulogy Tombstone, and he also has that silver level work, don’t tell me it is because he is an alchemy master?”

Necromancers were also magicians and weren’t prevented from doing alchemy.

Finally, it was Jian Gui’s turn, his prior trade hadn’t been reached, and he simply gave up on it.

The third round of transactions began.

Cang Xu mainly looked at Ku Feng, he asked to buy a corpse aspect necromancer inheritance.

“Although I obtained an advanced soul aspect inheritance, my body has been transformed through my research, and I don’t plan on abandoning that.”

Cang Xu gave a simple explanation to everyone.

But Ku Feng replied, “I am not a necromancer, I am a fighter. Although Lord Doctor Sui Shi roused me, I didn’t get a corpse aspect necromancer inheritance from him.”

“However, I can research for you. But you’ll need to pay for it to my satisfaction, furthermore, that research cannot disturb my pursue of the blade path.”

Ku Feng’s words surprised Cang Xu.

However, the others didn’t seem surprised.

Seeing Cang Xu’s puzzled look, Ku Feng shrugged his shoulders, “Don’t be baffled, I have done research for Lord Jian Gui.

Jian Gui laughed, “Oh ho ho, craving for knowledge is an outstanding characteristic of a magician. I have a basic corpse aspect inheritance that I can sell to you.”

Although Cang Xu was very interested in Ku Feng’s body, he knew he didn’t have the opportunity to research it.

Ku Feng could not be brought back to the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps, and research would take a lot of time, he didn’t have such leisure.

Thus, Cang Xu looked at Jiang Gui, and after a period of silence, audaciously said, “Lord Jian Gui, you can sell me your necromancer inheritances, I want to buy them all, please name your price.”

As a result, Cang Xu obtained a basic inheritance for both the corpse and bone aspects.

Cang Xu acutely took note that Jian Gui did not sell his research results on Ku Feng’s body.

Even so, he had an ample harvest.

After a mere skim over, he obtained much assistance from the corpse aspect necromancer inheritance that would allow him to continue transforming his own body.

The third round concluded and the fourth began.

Cang Xu took a deep breath, then boldly requested a deal with Jian Gui, “Lord Jian Gui, if I may be so bold, are you willing to sell the method of how to make soul crystals?”

Jian Gui stared at him.

Xiao Wang Zi bellowed, “What? Newcomer, you’re dreaming.”

Cang Xu deeply bowed, “With money, anything can be discussed.”

Qing Xin looked at Cang Xu, covering her concern.

As the proverb says, don’t flaunt your wealth.

When Cang Xu showed off his money, was he not worried that these necromancers would besiege and rob him?

This transaction gathering was unlike Two Eyes Island’s auction hall; it was easy for dirty deeds to happen here.

Cang Xu also admitted to his own boldness.

However, he didn’t carelessly take risks.

First, he had his judgement. Although this was the first time he had met Jian Gui and the others, with his life experience and communication skills, he could determine the innate character of these people.

Second, Cang Xu believed that this audaciousness would instead be beneficial for him, it was called bluffing.

As expected, outside of Xiao Wang Zi’s reprimand, the others kept silent.

Qi Ling looked at Cang Xu faintly.

Anyone with basic intelligence could guess, “This newcomer is so bold, he must have something he is relying on, we have to be vigilant!”

Of course, Cang Xu was displaying a silver level life aura.

Even if silver levels were not the gold level Jian Gui’s match, they could still escape.

Cang Xu also had another magician, Qing Xin, of the same level by his side.

They didn’t know that Cang Xu wasn’t relying on himself or Qing Xin, but the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps in the distance.

Finally, Cang Xu believed that taking this risk was worth it.

If Jian Gui agreed to this transaction, wouldn’t it be a bloody profit?

Even if the price paid was high, it was worth the money.

One egg and one egg laying hen, the latter was naturally worth far more in the long term.

“Oh ho ho.” Jian Gui laughed and shook his head, “So sorry, the soul crystal creation method cannot be sold.”

“Even though I lack money greatly.”

“You understand, all magicians lack money!”

After Jiang Gui’s small jest, he turned serious, “The soul crystal creation method is a treasure of the soul aspect necromancer inheritance, its most valuable part.”

“This cannot be taught to outsiders.”

Cang Xu’s expression changed, “What do you mean?”

“Very simple, become one of us.” Jian Gui solemnly said, “You need to pass an audit and complete some missions, then you’ll be qualified to obtain the pertinent inheritance.”

“This is also the rules set by Founder You Shen!”

Cang Xu bowed again, expressing his apology, then he continued to ask about the audit and investigation, along with what kind of missions needed to be completed.

“I became a necromancer to gain greater power.”

“Since I am already wanted and not tolerated by the world, then I only have one road, isn’t that so?”

“Oh ho ho, you are very aware.” Jian Gui exclaimed in admiration, then he changed his tone, “But unfortunately, you cannot pass the audit.”

“I can see that your potential is limited, the limits of your talent isn’t high.”

“The first step of this audit is inspecting this.”

“So sorry.”

Cang Xu stared blankly in place.

For a split second, he was a bit absent minded.

It was like returning to the past, when the authorities condemned his cultivation aptitudes to death.
