Chapter 181: The Priest Provides Aid

Two Eyes Island.

The fires of war was everywhere.

Shouts of murder echoed through the heavens.

On a desolate beach, Song Shou was standing ready for battle.

The seawater suddenly surged, and Er Gua Zi’s silhouette flashed in the waves.

Fishman battle skill – Wave Blade!

From the three meter high wave shot out five or six gigantic water blades. The water blades were perpendicular to the sea, and with sharp edges, they plowed into the beach and towards Song Shou.

Song Shou suddenly reached out and stomped his feet onto the beach.

Tree like cracks suddenly spread through the beach, the cracks emitted gold battle qi.

When the tree pattern and water blades collided with each other, both burst and destroyed the other.

Subsequent waves whistled as they came in, covering the aftermath of these two battle skills.

Er Gua Zi’s figure revealed itself in the waves, and with bubbling battle qi, he condensed the sea waves next to him into two enormous fists.

·

Fishman battle skill – Water Fist – Battering Ram!

Song Shou coldly snorted, he didn’t move to avoid it, instead he met it face to face.

His palms clapped his chest, and half his body armor suddenly emitted a dazzling light that instantly formed a tower that protected Song Shou within it.

The two water fists swung from the left and right, smashing into the tower at the same time.

The tower shook, and distinct cracks formed on its surface.

Er Gua Zi sneered, his battle intent increasing sharply.

His attack wasn’t that fast, and Song Shou was completely able to avoid it.

But the latter didn’t do that and instead chose to block it.

After blocking it, although his defensive battle skill didn’t collapse, it would only last temporarily.

As long as the attacks continued, it would be dispersed.

Song Shou had sunken into a passive state.

Er Gua Zi had abundant fighting experience, and he immediately mobilized his battle qi to condense two more water fists to continue his high tempo offensive.

Thus, Song Shou wasn’t able to catch his breath or adjust himself, he was forced to maintain his Tower Defense battle skill and wearily take the tide of attacks.

Song Shou was giving ground.

But although Er Gua Zi took the initiative, he wasn’t able to break his opponent’s defensive battle skill for some time.

In the other gold level battle, the naga priestess began to pray.

It was obvious she was trying to use some powerful divine spell.

“Can’t let her let her do that!”

Like a sharp arrow, Hun Tong’s clone shot straight towards the naga priestess with ice cold killing intent.

The old elder roared, and with a walking stick in hand, intercepted Hun Tong’s clone.

Yan Ding instigated his smoke and used a large scale battle skill that wildly covered the area with pitch-black smoke.

The old elder and Hun Tong’s clone were within the battle skill’s area of effect.

Since they were both gold levels with outstanding defense, they easily withstood it.

This was Yan Ding’s weak point.

Since his battle skills sought to affect a large area, when dealing with cultivators of the same level, they didn’t do that much to them.

But Yan Ding’s target was not the old clan elder or Hun Tong’s clone, instead it was the fishman army on the Frozen Land Whale.

The Frozen Land Whale’s water bubble defense had massive holes eroded into it by the black smoke through which clouds of it squeezed through like loathsome pythons that pounced at the fishman army.

The fishman main army didn’t have a silver level, a gold level battle skill was slaughtering them like sheep!

In that crucial moment, the old elder attacked back and used a gold battle skill that curtailed and dissipated every wisp of smoke.

Hun Tong’s clone didn’t stop him, as he was going through the smoke to kill the naga priestess.

The naga priestess was forced to deal with the alchemy puppet and had to stop her prayer halfway through.

On the fishman’s side, they had a fighter and a caster.

According to common sense, they had better and more rational troop arrangements.

But in actual combat, the fishmen were instead at a disadvantage.

The biggest reason was the alchemy puppet.

The clone puppet was an exact duplicate of Hun Tong’s battle power and possessed his fighting experience, yet it fought more fiercely than the actual Hun Tong.

Because it was an artificial clone puppet – it wasn’t scared of dying!

The clone puppet’s defenses were also astonishing.

Hun Tong’s specialty as an assassin meant his attack was strong while his defense was weak. But this clone puppet had his attack and displayed a comprehensive strength that was somewhat stronger than the actual Hun Tong.

Yan Ding’s attacks against cultivators of the same level was lacking, but nevertheless he still provided excellent help.

Because he was culling the main fishman army.

If the old elder didn’t pay attention, his people would succumb to Yan Ding and suffer disastrous losses.

Because Yan Ding was always attacking the main fishman army, the old elder was quite sullen that he had to save them every single time.

Not saving them was beyond question.

The old elder and his entire clan had attacked to retake their home.

But if almost all of his clansmen were dead, even if Two Eyes Island was taken back, who would live on it?

Losing one’s home, yet the clan surviving meant there was still hope.

Losing one’s clansmen and retaining one’s home meant the enemy could come back again, no one was there to defend it.

The old elder knew this, thus, he had to protect the fishman army.

For these reasons, the fishman’s gold levels were on the downturn, and for a moment, they couldn’t break through Hun Tong’s clone and Yang Ding’s defensive line.

Qi You and Hun Tong were fighting and observing the battlefield.

He evaluated the two other gold fights.

These were the biggest elements that impacted the battle for Two Eyes Island.

“Song Shou is losing but isn’t in danger for now.”

“The alchemy clone is actually stronger than the main body, how outrageous!”

“But that’s fine.”

Of all the gold levels present, Qi You was probably the least worried.

The pirate boss’s biggest hope for the situation was that it continued to remain deadlocked.

The fishmen and feudal lord forces pinning each other down meant this was the best opportunity for pirates to plunder.

Although Qi You wasn’t doing the looting himself, his underlings were sure to be reaping an immense harvest.

Of all the pirates on the new island, Qi You’s were the most impressive.

No other pirate groups clashed with them.

It was because of Qi You.

As he dodged Hun Tong’s attack, Qi You ridiculed, “Hun Tong, this can’t continue.”

“One clone puppet can only hold back the offensive; it cannot reverse the situation for you.”

“Well then, let me give you an idea.”

“Hire me for ten thousand gold, oh and the secret recipe for Fragrant Gill Tea, and I will help you deal with these fishmen. How about it?”

At this moment, Qi You expressed his pirate shamelessness.

Hun Tong coldly snorted and responded by attacking Qi You more intensely.

Hun Tong couldn’t agree to Qi You’s demand.

Even if Qi You was acting in good faith, as a human feudal lord, if Hun Tong agreed to cooperate with pirates, what would be his noble honor, how could he continue to mingle among other imperial lords?

Qi You’s eyes slightly narrowed.

After Hun Tong had used the alchemy clone, he began to attack more fiercely.

All of this was rational.

But Qi You constantly felt something was fishy.

This feeling couldn’t be vocalized properly, but Qi You trusted it.

Because he was an old pirate that had sailed the sea for many years, previous fights proved the veracity of this feeling.

Many times, this feeling had come true.

“What are you waiting for? Feudal Lord Hun Tong!” Qi You taunted again.

But Hun Tong was silent, he just attacked.

“Huh?” Qi You blankly stared, upon noticing something new, he couldn’t help but thing, “Don’t tell me he is waiting for the outcome of the battle between these silvers?”

New developments in the port battlefield were being keenly observed by Qi You.

Naturally other gold levels were paying attention too.

There was just a difference in timing between them.

What produced a radical change in the port battlefield was not bystanders, it was the Wealth priest, the Fertile Land priest, Shi Fa, and the temple guards and clergymen under their command.

Two silver level clerics as well as a silver level magician were a formidable force!

The moment they entered the battlefield they would instantly affect it.

Divine spells fell onto humans, healing many wounded to a battle ready state, greatly increasing their morale.

Magic smashed into fishmen, instantly changing the situation and causing disastrous fishmen casualties.

When the fishmen that were entangled with these humans suffered this backstab, they were suddenly thrown into disorder.

Because their leaders were fighting the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ cultivators, there was no one to lead the troops.

The only one that could interfere was Yao Guan Zi.

Bang.

The port’s final light cannon tower also collapsed.

The Vinegar Jar under Yao Guan Zi’s control had destroyed all of the light cannon towers in a swift manner, an outstanding military merit!

But the Vinegar Jar had paid a heavy price in exchange.

The magic power reservoir had fallen to 32%.

The Vinegar Jar was bruised and dented, and its own mast had snapped off.

Not only that, but the Vinegar Jar’s bottom cannon mouth had been half destroyed.

It was this cannon mouth discharging water that allowed the Vinegar Jar to move across dry land.

The human soldiers manning the light cannon turrets weren’t idiots either; after seeing this, they focused fire on the cannon mouth.

The light cannon turrets had strong firepower, and even rarer, had high accuracy.

The latter bit wasn’t a strong point of alchemy cannons.

The swiftly rotating Vinegar Jar couldn’t avoid this bombardment.

Fortunately, the Vinegar Jar was close to the light cannon turrets, allowing it to smash into them in short order.

Without the light cannon turrets threating it, Yao Guan Zi’s next target were the two priests.

The Wealth priest was forced to order, “Scatter!”

The Vinegar Jar’s charge didn’t achieve an ideal result.

The priests’ troops loudly dispersed, and the huge Vinegar Jar could only catch all of its enemies when they were concentrated in one area.

Yao Guan Zi had no choice but to target the Wealth priest.

But the priest had divine spells that allowed him to move quickly.

The Vinegar Jar was a silver level magic ship, and driving the ship to deal with a single enemy was not something it could do.

It was like using a cannon to hit a mosquito, the costs were high, and efficiency was extremely low.

In fact, the Vinegar Jar was actually restrained by a single silver level.

Because a person was far more flexible than a magic ship.

But the priest didn’t choose to bravely charge the Vinegar Jar.

Previously, Commander Tie Bang and Beng Dai had been defeated by it, and Commander Tie Bang even lost his life.

Xi Dai Zi knew the Vinegar Jar only had Yao Guan Zi, a single silver level, in it, but the humans didn’t.

Since the enemy’s power was unknown, the Wealth priest decided not to take a risk.

This was his parish.

His mentality was the closest to Hun Tong’s, he hoped to stabilize the war situation and protect this territory as soon as possible.
