Chapter 165: The Powerful Dragonman

The port battlefield.

Sonorous fishmen war cries, the curses of human defenders, and the sounds of battle mixed together.

Blades glistened, the shadows of swords flew, and many arrows and bullets spat through the air.

Some fought selflessly, others struggled for their lives, and some upon seeing their comrades in arms fall, took revenge to wipe out their grudges with wild scarlet eyes!

It was a chaotic battlefield.

There were no battle lines.

Because when the Vinegar Jar Pirates approached, many ships sailed out and the originally crowded port became much more spacious.

The Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ ships couldn’t leave the harbor, and they were the fishmen’s main target.

Therefore, they now had the most fishmen surrounding them.

It was the center of the battlefield.

“gram”

A fishman exclaimed as it climbed up the side of a ship and onto the deck, then threw themselves at the nearest Dragon Lion mercenary.

The mercenary was currently holding back another offensive.

He was in imminent danger, and didn’t notice the fishman charging in from his left.

Ding.

A gunshot echoed.

The fishmen toppled over, completely dead.

The mercenary was still gritting his teeth, and didn’t notice how close death had brushed past him.

The one who saved his life was a gunman.

He didn’t have any notion of taking credit, because this had happened many times already.

The line of battle across the ship sides had already been shattered, and increasing amounts of fishmen were rushing onto the deck. The mercenaries retreated around the ship’s bow and aft houses, as well as the mast in the middle and the doorway to the lower deck, barely able to defend themselves.

The gunman’s only hope was that they could repel these fishmen as soon as possible, then reorganize the defensive line around the ship, otherwise they’d all be in danger.

Ammunition ran out.

“I need to reload, cover me!” The gunman shouted, he took a big step back and lowered his head to reload his gun.

His battle companion behind him straightened his back and stepped forward to protect him.

But a moment later, a hurled harpoon skewered him.

His corpse fell onto the gunman.

The ammo the gunman had taken out toppled out of his palm and fell onto the stairs that linked the aft house and the deck.

“Damm it!” The gunman cursed, he was about to pick it up when suddenly, a shadow covered him.

The gunman’s hair suddenly rose, and without thinking, he raised his firearm.

A moment later.

A fishman cutlass ferociously hacked into the gun’s barrel.

The alchemy firearm came from War Merchant’s warehouse, and its quality was guaranteed. Thus it wasn’t cut through and had saved the gunman’s life.

But only for the time being.

Seeing he missed, the fishmen pulled out his blade and swung again.

“Duck!”

The gunman heard someone yell behind him during this critical moment.

He promptly ducked.

A second later, a broadsword whooshed above the gunman’s head.

The fishman raised his blade to protect himself, but the broadsword sliced through his body, causing his blood to splash everywhere.

The gunman seized that opportunity to roll behind his battle companion to give the latter space.

As he got up, another gunman handed him some ammo.

This time, he smoothly reloaded.

The gunmen fired in quick succession, each bullet taking away a fishman’s life.

But the situation hadn’t improved.

There were so many fishmen, and at this moment, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps needed stronger firepower.

The situation was deeply worrying.

On some ships, the fishmen held the advantage, while on others the humans firmly held their ground.

Both sides lost people during these shootouts and close quarters fights.

The dragonman youngster had such things as he rushed to the port.

When he saw his subordinates fall one after the other, despite them slaying more fishmen in return, the dragonman youngster’s heart still filled with fury.

The dragonman youngster had always held himself responsible as leader.

But now, it wasn’t the time to resolve these issues.

Anger did not tamper the dragonman youngster’s reason, he quickly differentiated and analyzed the battlefield.

Although the battlefield was disorderly, there were only two key fights. One was the Quick Knife battle squad and the Steel Bone Knight fishman, and the other was the spiky fishman pursuing Cang Xu.

Without hesitation, the dragonman youngster made a beeline for Cang Xu.

Cang Xu was in a more urgent situation, he was already wounded (the dragonman youngster didn’t know Cang Xu’s injuries were an element of his plan to paralysis his opponent).

Zong Ge, behind him rushed over to assist the Quick Knife battle squad.

At the same time, the Vinegar Jar was approaching the port after sustaining innumerable magic traps.

Finally, within casting range, Xi Dai Zi immediately let out prepared magic.

Cang Xu couldn’t evade, and his speed slumped when he waws struck by the ice magic.

The spiky fishman howled with laughter and seized the opportunity to get near Cang Xu and smash Cang Xu’s head in with his wolf teeth club.

He had finally found a chance since they started fighting, and for a moment was too excited to notice a blazing figure towering above him.

Battle skill – Demolition Fist.

Bang!

A moment later, the dragonman youngster’s fist ruggedly pounded into the spiky fishman’s back and smashed him downwards.

Crack, thump, bump!

Three crunches in a row.

The spiky fishman crashed through the first deck, then the second deck, until finally crashing through the bottom of the ship.

Plop.

He fell into the sea, reaching a depth of four meters within seconds, causing seawater to surge upwards all around him.

The sharp pain from his back caused the spiky fishman to gasp and belch out lots of blood.

His perfectly round fishmen eyes glared angrily through the turbulent waters and holes in the ship and saw the murderer who attacked him.

A tall silhouette looked down at him through those three holes.

The sunlight shined on the murderer’s head, and a strong sense of oppression suddenly hit his face.

It was obviously silver level, but he felt like he was facing a gold level.

Vertical red eyes and sharp fangs and teeth.

His body of dragon scales was just like battle armor.

Dragon claws balled into a fist had steam rising from it.

Information given prebattle streaked across the fishman’s brains.

In an instant, he figured out who had attacked him, “Long Fu!”

According to what the information said:

He was a silver level dragonman.

He once faced Rou Zang openly.

This alone caused people to look at him in high regard.

But the strike and his serious injury from it allowed the spiky fishman to completely understand how strong Long was!

This was a monstrous silver level!

He had only felt this kind of oppressive power from Dao Hen.

But Dao Hen bore the strong Knife Fin bloodline and was an old fishman that had been renowned for a long time.

How hold was Long Fu?

The spiky fishman spat out a bit more blood.

But this time, he finally recovered his strength.

The fist had left crushed scales and shattered bones in his back.

Every time he moved, he would feel intense pain.

However, this pain instead aroused the spiky fishman’s ferocity even more!

He howled and with all of his might, climbed back up.

“gram”

The spiky fishman rushed out of the seawater, and rushed up the holes in the ship, both fists raised as he advanced towards the dragonman youngster.

The dragonman youngster remained calm as he suddenly extended his left palm to the left of his body.

Ding.

The left palm detonated.

The battle skill Surge activated, pushing him out of the way.

He timed it just right, and the spiky fishman breaking through the decks attacked with all of his might yet hit nothing.

Using the explosion’s force, the dragonman youngster rushed to the side of the ship.

He had been practicing this battle skill diligently.

Now, he had a skillful mastery of the battle skill Surge.

It was an easy drive on a familiar path for him now, to the extent that he actually expressed a hint of gracefulness when his strong body experienced sudden shifts in location.

The dragonman youngster softly jumped, his two feet landing on the inner side of the ship.

His knees bent in passing, and like a compressing spring saving kinetic energy, his entire body was nearly parallel with the deck.

Battle skill – Surge.

The center of both his soles exploded at the same time.

The explosions blew holes in the ship side.

This strong driving force bubbling out boosted his charge at the spiky fishman.

The spiky fishman cried out as he lifted his arm to block it.

This time it was different, he finally had time to withstand the dragonman youngster directly.

Battle skill – Demolition Fist.

Bang!

A similar explosion boomed.

Similar firepower.

A similar scene played out again.

The spiky fishman was blown away, his arm bones completely disintegrated, and his chest cratered by the powerful strike.

At least four of his ribs were broken.

The spiky fishman was valiant, and before the explosion launched him, he used racial magic with all of his strength.

His frontal spikes aimed and fired at the dragonman youngster!

Ding, ding, ting…

A succession of metal clangs accompanied splattering sparks.

The dragonman youngster stood firm, for his unyielding dragon scales perfectly shielded him from harm.

Some spikes bounced back and hit some unlucky people.

A hole appeared in an iron level fishman’s head, they stiffened, then fell to the deck. Their brains and blood were pooling from the hole in their forehead.

The spiky fishman flew through the air for a moment before smashing into the middle of another ship hull.

The Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ ships were all ordinary vessels, so he broke through the hull.

The spiky fishman crashed into the ship hold, then broke a ship ladder and three ship pillars before stopping.

Lying in the wooden ruins, the spiky fishman madly coughed out blood once again.

The acute pain caused him to involuntarily howl out miserably.

Taking the dragonman youngster’s fist was simply like being hit by a battering ram!

He couldn’t raise his arms.

His breathing was also hindered, and his chest was congested.

The spiky fishman wanted to crawl up and continue the fight when suddenly, his vision went dark and he fell back down, nearly fainting on the spot.

Upon seeing this, the human fighters all cheered, and their morale greatly rose.

“That’s our commander!”

“Commander Long Fu has returned!”

“Woohoo, it’s time to kill these wretched fishmen bastards!!”

At that moment, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps was greatly influenced.

The fishmen swallowed their saliva, and they no longer charged wildly with no thought for personal safety, now many fishmen looked worried and their movements slowed somewhat.

The Dragon Lion mercenaries felt a great weight lift from them.

Both sides had limited training and weren’t standing armies. Although the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps had Zong Ge, a drilling master, their training hadn’t been that long.

Thus, morale greatly affected them.
