Chapter 80: Snake Rat Naval Battle (6)

Rou Zang resentfully roared.

When the merchant alliance magician saw that, she couldn’t help but praise the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ stratagem.

Although the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps had expanded greatly, they hadn’t been established for long, and just like Snake Rat Island, they too had low numbers.

Normally, regardless of whether it is pirate groups, navies, and so on, equipment was upgraded linearly. Take cannons for example. There were ordinary cannons, bronze level cannons, iron level cannons, and silver level ones.

But the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps was special.

Their arsenal was composed almost entirely of ordinary cannons, they had neither bronze, iron, or silver level cannons, and yet they had a gold level cannon!

During this battle, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps utilized this cannon to its peak potential.

Crippling the Bath Tub was already a great merit.

Soon after, they had used false information about it to lure Rou Zang into a detonating ship.

Even if that ship and its ordinary cannons were lost, they didn’t cost much.

By contrast, Rou Zang had endured innumerable attacks, wasted a lot of battle qi, and greatly diminished his combat abilities in exchange.

For a business point of view, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps had earned a bloody profit!

Rou Zang’s face was covered in anger, and after he looked around at the battlefield, he didn’t care about the sinking Bath Tub, rather he threw himself at Tan Qiu’s flagship.

“He is heading towards us!” Tan Qiu grinded his jaw, his eyes embittered, yet timid. A moment later, his courage roused, and he straightened his back as he stepped forth to do battle.

Rou Zang’s target this time was the merchant alliance magician and the templar priest.

Both were silver level casters.

The merchant alliance magician immediately cast magic and left the flagship.

Only the priest was left on the flagship, with Tan Qiu protecting him.

Rou Zang charged onto the flagship’s deck, rather than striking its hull.

Although Tan Qiu’s flagship was not a magic ship, it was made of materials far better than ordinary ones. Rou Zang had used up too much battle qi already; thus he was beginning to cut down on his usage.

In fact, if his flagship sank, what would he use instead?

There were many alliance ships, thus the priest could jump onto another when the time came.

Only by killing the silver level cultivators could the outcome of this naval battle be changed.

Centered around the flagship, everyone once again encircled Rou Zang, yet still couldn’t stop Rou Zang’s violent advance.

The priest was forced to use a divine spell to flee to another ship.

Magic and divine spells really were far more convenient to use than battle qi.

Rou Zang kept the pursuit up, and the silver level fighters did their utmost to intercept him, forming a moving carnage that brought calamity wherever it landed.

Ships capsized, and if the pirates or sailors were caught in the moving carnage, they would almost all die, leaving few survivors.

For more than a dozen minutes, the priest had several near-death experiences.

The city guard commander was seriously injured and couldn’t keep fighting.

The merchant alliance magician, Zi Di, and Cang Xu drained their magic power, with the latter two’s nearly dry.

Their magic was ineffective against the gold level target, but it slowed Rou Zang’s steps, a necessary contribution.

“Hu hu…” Rou Zang gasped for air; he was gradually looking fatigued.

He still looked vicious, but his body had a slight shudder that was visible to others.

Rou Zang was beating back Zong Ge when Captain Hei Fei flew at him from behind.

The silver level cutlass swung down, this time cutting skin!

Hei Fei was pleasantly surprised that his hit had landed and immediately retreated to avoid Rou Zang’s fist.

“The monster is finally bleeding…”

When everyone saw the wound on Rou Zang’s back spilling blood, they were both startled and delighted.

But a moment later, the wound was covered by flesh and the cut immediately stopped bleeding.

The alliance’s cultivators were still in high spirits though.

Since the fight had begun, Rou Zang had been an unstoppable force that dominated the battlefield. Although this scrap was small, it gave everyone hope that they’d be victorious.

The dragonman youngster shot in like an artillery shell, then after punching Rou Zang, he shot back out.

Following his lead, everyone began to attack from all sides again.

Hei Fei’s cutlass waited for its chance to slash, and the Night Hunting Group commander whistled, dispatching a dozen iron level bats to fly around Rou Zang.

The iron level bats’ magic beast claws were poisonous, and the constantly accumulating poison taxed Rou Zang further.

Rou Zang’s injury let the Night Hunting Group commander to see an opportunity.

Zong Ge was peppering arrows from far off with two crossbows.

At this stage in the fight, his old arm wound had flared up again, and due to the incessant bleeding, he was forced to forestall his assault and accept a divine treatment spell.

The merchant alliance magician drank some medicine, racing against time to restore her magic power.

The dragonman youngster’s Demolition Fist was beginning to scorch Rou Zang’s flesh black.

Hei Fei’s cutlass was often cutting once or twice.

The iron level bats were gradually slain by Rou Zang, however they had scratched and bit him many times, the wounds left behind were a distinct dark purple.

In a short time, Zong Ge had fired 80 alchemy arrows at Rou Zang, causing burns, frost damage, acid burns, and all other sorts of injuries.

With the medicine, the merchant alliance magician had recovered half her magic power, then after using two attack spells, it was exhausted once again.

Tan Qiu’s chest was covered in blood.

It was his blood.

During a critical moment, he had to be the obstruction that gave the priest time.

The priest was panting, and his head was soaked in sweat. Not only was he tired, but he was also scared.

During this fight against Rou Zang, he was the alliance’s most important figure.

As long as the other silver kept fighting Rou Zang, they would be seriously hurt. Not everyone had the dragonman youngster’s dragon scales.

It was precisely because the priest had used several treatment spells in succession that maintained everyone’s battle strength that they were able to ensure they had the superiority in numbers.

Without the priest, the alliance’s silver fighters would have been dragged down by their injuries and would in no way be as vigorous and lively as they were now.

“Cough, cough.”

As Rou Zang repelled the dragonman youngster, he suddenly coughed out blood, then began to kneel to the ground, exhausted.

Rou Zang’s visible gold battle qi also looked like a sputtering candle, appearing and disappearing.

“He’s about to die!” Tan Qiu shouted spiritedly.

“Just a bit more!” Hei Fei laughed nastily.

“Rou Zang, time for you to lose your head!” the priest solemnly looked onwards.

Everyone beleaguered him again.

The dragonman youngster charged his front, Hei Fei attacked his back, Ba Hu struck his left, and Zong Ge shot arrows at Zong Ge’s right arm.

“You want to kill me? All of you will go to hell!!” Rou Zang exploded in anger, he suddenly stood up and straightened his belly.

He waved his two palms, then beat his belly like an army drum.

Ding!

The belly vibrated greatly, and with a terrible echo, it seemed to smash into everyone’s heart.

The dragonman youngster and the others suddenly grew sluggish, and soon after, were pushed back by the clamorous soundwaves.

Battle skill – Chaotic Skin Drum!

Ding, ding, ding…

The giant Rou Zang pounded his belly several times.

The wild drumbeat created translucent soundwaves.

With a violent and ferocious attitude, the soundwaves swept across the battlefield!

Chucks flew away from the deck under Rou Zang, and as the sound ripped across the hull, it began to crack.

The soundwave caused Zong Ge to stagger, and he retreated, deathly pale.

Hei Fei knelt to the ground, covering his eardrums and dropping his cutlass in pain.

The dragonman youngster’s face went red, all of his muscles were affected by the drumbeat, the constant pulsing and trembling causing him to lose control over his muscles.

As the clamor spread, pirates and sailors fighting each other rolled their eyes and sprayed blood from their mouths, dying on the spot.

Ba Hu also fell to the ground.

He tenaciously grabbed his chest clothes, a pained expression on his face and veins popping on his forehead as he struggled on the edge of death.

The widespread sound attack even disturbed the priest and merchant alliance magician.

A figure appeared.

It was a girl.

The silver level thief, the trump card Tan Qiu had strenuously concealed, had her cover blown by the soundwaves.

Rou Zang howled in laughter, then suddenly jumped at the priest.

The priest was stooped over, unable to move.

Tan Qiu hesitated, then summoned all of his courage and attacked Rou Zang.

But Rou Zang ignored him, and with two palms, crushed the priest into a pool of blood.

The priest died!

“No!” Tan Qiu bellowed, his sword was buried deep in Rou Zang’s flesh, nearly up to the hilt.

Rou Zang kicked Tan Qiu away, then due to a lack of strength, kneeled again.

A moment later, Tan Qiu, the girl, the Night Devil Hunting Commander, and the others surrounded him and attacked together.

Rou Zang found it difficult to turn about, his back them all.

Battle skill – Thorn in the Flesh!

In his moment of crisis, gold battle qi was stimulated once again, and formed into fine needles that suddenly ejected from his back.

Like a downpour, the attack covered his enemies.

The gold battle qi needles pierced the skin, and immediately dug into the silver fighters’ flesh.

The fighters’ flesh suddenly changed into crystals that formed a fleshly thorn.

As long as it moved a little, the fleshly thorns would cause immense pain. More crucially, the fleshly thorns were constantly growing, and if ignored, would pierce a body’s internal organs. If it reached this step, light injuries would become serious, and even be fatal.

Zong Ge, Hei Fei, and the Night Devil Hunting Group commander groaned dimly, then urged their internal silver battle qi to suppress the fleshy thorns.

The dragonman youngster was also hit by this battle skill, and although his body was covered in dragon scales, even he couldn’t completely block the gold battle qi.

“Ah…” Ba Hu screamed before he died.

Chaotic Skin Drum had already brought him to death’s door, and he was unable to protect himself from Thorn in the Flesh that followed shortly after.

At first, Thron in the Flesh didn’t feel like anything, but after several breaths, he started to scream.

Then a few seconds later, Ba Hu’s mournful scream quieted to a final wail.

The wail quickly diminished to nothing.

He too was dead.

“Finally, an opportunity!” The dragonman youngster’s killing intent did not drop but rose instead.

Finally, he had found an opportunity to use Life Scorching Dragon Breath.

“Protect me!” The dragonman youngster stood still.

With a draconic chant, the aura of a racial magic quickly emitted.

Zong Ge hurried to the young man’s side immediately after, shooting a crossbow while roaring at the other fighters, “Entangle Rou Zang!”

The silver fighters all knew of the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ military accomplishments and knew that the Life Scorching Dragon Breath had once forced Rou Zang to retreat.
