Chapter 601: Saving Dao Hen

The fishman youngster felt baffled, “Why is Dao Hen here?”

He clearly remembered that as his former enemy on Two Eyes Island, Dao Hen had been taken prisoner, why was he here?

The fishman youngster pondered over it while focusing his attention.

The first level of concentration allowed him to find Dao Hen.

The second level of concentration allowed him to learn that Dao Hen was scared of death and was chanting a litany deep within his heart.

The third level of concentration allowed him to learn of Dao Hen’s strength, current condition, and other facets of information.

The fourth level of concentration didn’t add anything else.

But the fishman youngster had surmised why, and he decisively used the divine spell – Divine Power Channel!

After the profound passage constructed from divine power was created, he and Dao Hen formed an instantaneous, space crossing channel between them.

Dao Hen sensed this anomaly and couldn’t help but shudder emotionally.

“God, I sense God’s gaze!”

“Heavens, a God really answered me!!”

Dao Hen normally had average faith, or to be more accurate, he was a believer who believed in a large swath of mainstream fishmen gods.

“Which grand existence answered me though?” At that moment, Dao Hen sensed the fishman youngster’s form, causing many doubts to arise from the bottom of his heart.

It was a whirlpool in an ocean, and in the depths of the ocean there was an immense shadow as high as a mountain that leaked out the boundless aura of the gods.

Normally speaking, due to the divine power communication channel, Dao Hen could see the fishman youngster’s appearance.

The fishman youngster naturally wouldn’t expose what he looked like, he instead did the same thing when he linked up with the big guy and decided to change his form.

As for why he picked this form, it was because it came from the nightmare that had haunted him.

“We have such an existence as a fishman god?” Dao Hen was bewildered with reverence when he obtained this answer in his heart.

It was the information the fishman youngster had transmitted to him.

“A Fish God, so it’s actually a Fish God!!” Dao Hen’s misgivings vanished in an instant, “Indeed, there is a God named Mist among the Fish Gods.”

Dao Hen guessed that the fishman Gods who were gazing at him was the three most mainstream ones.

They were the Ocean Guardian Cube Shell, the Star Crown Ink Concubine, and the Deep Sea Wisdom from Poetry.

Before becoming a god, Ocean Guardian Cube Shell was a fishman with a giant bloodline. Thus, their body was massive, and their scales gleamed. Cube Shell had three authorities as an Ocean God, a Defender God, and a Fishman God. They could raise tsunamis and gigantic waves, while also being responsible for protecting all kinds of lifeforms in the ocean from harm.

Fishmen shaman in Cube Shell’s church were experts at defensive type divine spells.

Star Crown Ink Concubine was a cuttlefish magic beast who became a god. They had three water attribute authorities as a fishman and magic beast god, a stealth god, and a water god. Their fishmen shamans were experts at controlling ocean magic beasts, spraying out ink shields, and changing water quality, ala capable of purifying and polluting water.

Wisdom from Poetry was a mermaid who before becoming a god was a wandering poet. She had gray scales and penetrating eyes that could see the secrets of the ocean and passed them on to other living beings. She was also a deep sea sage that often imparted the wisdom to survive in the depths to other lifeforms and also rescued some deep sea explorers.

Wisdom from Poetry learned all kinds of knowledge from the ocean, including how deep sea organisms behaved, how coral reefs grew, among other rules. She also used deep sea energy to heal wounded ocean creatures and guided lost people to her deep sea mystifying temple.

“I didn’t expect the Fish God Mist to answer me.”

Dao Hen used all of his strength to recall what he knew of Mist.

“The Fish God Mist’s origins are mysterious, some say they were a giant magic beast fish who became a god, others say they were a deep sea piranha who happened to devour some part of a god’s body and obtained divinity by a fluke.”

In Dao Hen’s memory, the Fish God Mist mainly instructed magic beast fish who had gained intelligence. Of course, fishmen also had people who believed in Mist, they, for the most part, were mysterious, ruthless, and hid in secret places.

“The God Mist really likes experts, and the fishmen who believe in them are generally powerful and unconventional.”

Dao Hen found a reason for why a god was watching him.

“From now on, I, Dao Hen, will serve you with all I have, my God, my grand Fish God Mist…”

Dao Hen began to pray again.

Before he prayed, he actually didn’t have any hope, he was just trying anything in his desperate state.

Now that a god was watching him, he realized that he had a chance of escaping! Under that ecstasy, he immediately changed his litany and turned towards Mist alone.

For this prayer, because it was not geared towards every fishman god, and only towards Mist, the fishman youngster immediately felt different.

In the divine spell’s dimensional perception, Dao Hen’s belief radiance began to grow brighter, and at the same time, the divine power channel also grew more stable.

As for why it wasn’t Charming Blue Goddess, but instead the Fish God Mist…

The fishman youngster understood why the moment he became a divine emissary.

Charming Blue Goddess had four authorities, deception, fishmen, water, and fishing.

These four authorities corresponded to her many god names.

The deception authority corresponded to the Goddess Charming Blue.

The racial fishman authority corresponded to the God Mist.

The water authority corresponded with the most divine names, like the Calm Lake God, the Wave God, and the Splash God.

The fishing authority corresponded to the Fishing Net Goddess.

Some gods only had one divine name, so why did Charming Blue Goddess have multiple? The more divine names one set up, the more was expended in transit. It was also detrimental towards believer unity, as believers under different divine names would fight and dispute in needless internal friction.

The fishman youngster knew what the reason was.

“Charming Blue Goddess had been attacked from all sides and sank into a deep sleep, her condition is quite bad and needed to maintain belief to heal and regain her strength. Belief is very important to her; therefore, Zhou Zhang took risks with blood sacrifice.”

“The same reason caused her to scatter the clergy and set up many gods. If it were a unified church, it would easily become a target of attack. If they were exterminated, the damage would be too disastrous. But believers under these many divine names don’t know each other, granting the greatest chance of preserving this secret. In the future, if one church is discovered, the others will continue to survive.”

In a nutshell, Charming Blue Goddess would rather expend some profits in transit and scatter her operations to reduce risks.

“Huh? I seem to remember that one of the gods Lan Zao believes in is the Fishing Net Goddess.”

“He was born into and grew up in a fisherman village, thus, he believes in the Fishing Net Goddess.”

“Perhaps I can use this to find him?”

The fishman youngster suddenly thought of something.

He was also unaware that Lan Zao had already returned to Ice Sculpture Island. The fishman youngster had just probed around and didn’t find Lan Zao’s faith.

It was because Lan Zao was in the divine domain Tranquil Hill, which concealed him.

After applying Divine Power Channel, the fishman youngster once again concentrated, and as expected there were four levels.

“My guess wasn’t wrong.”

“A simple divine spell’s [Believer Perception] concentration limit is the third level. But with the divine spell [Divine Power Channel], the limit of concentration is no longer limited to the third level.”

The fourth level of concentration allowed the fishman youngster to gain all of a believer’s memories.

The fishman youngster quickly read through Dao Hen’s memories.

Dao Hen’s memories were simple to understand, and apart from his imprisonment and suffering from ruthless torture and interrogation, the key thing was how he was instigated by Yan Yi’s people and was used by Tan Mo to frame Hun Tong.

When the fishman youngster comprehended the whole story, his complexion became somewhat heavy.

“Tan Mo, a navy rear admiral, simultaneously also an imperial secret spy investigator.”

“Tu Ji who comes from the Blood Light Punishment Institution!”

The two gold levels made the fishman youngster vigilant and at the same time, caused him to secretly let out a breath.

“Fortunately, they came because of Two Eyes Island, and not Mystifying Monster Island.”

“Mystifying Monster Island’s secret has not been exposed yet.”

In the battle of Two Eyes Island, Cang Xu had exposed himself as a necromancer, which led to a series of events.

Therefore, the Blood Light Punishment Institution only dispatched on gold level Tu Ji. While Tan Mo was responsible for investigating why Hun Tong had turned against his allies.

“If the empire found out what happened on Mystifying Monster Island…”

The fishman youngster didn’t dare to think about such dark things.

Regardless of whether it was War Merchant’s immensely valuable inheritance or the fact that he had secretly murdered the legend level Flame Dragon King, both would lead to sky eclipsing tsunami of suppression against them.

The fishman youngster put his feelings into order and reflected on what he should do about the current situation.

Dao Hen had to be protected.

This was not difficult for the fishman youngster.

But how specifically he should go about doing it needed meticulous consideration.

After thinking about it, the fishman youngster decided.

With an extremely verbose voice, he transmitted into Dao Hen’s heart, “Dao Hen, you went to war for the fishmen, you shouldn’t die by some plot. You still have a long journey in the ocean.”

“Under my protection, you cannot be seen. Seize this opportunity to leave this cage, like a clever small fish. Don’t splash unnecessary blood about…”

The fishman youngster then changed his tone of voice to tell Dao Hen a rough guideline of how to move next.

After he was done speaking, he used many divine spells.

The first was Deceptive Disguise.

Then he used the Anti-investigation and Prophecy spell.

The fishman youngster was both a cleric and a magician, allowing him to easily use both spells. The magic’s brilliance instantly followed along the divine power passage and onto Dao Hen’s body.

The best thing was the magic fluctuation was on the fishman youngster’s side, while Dao Hen’s side was quiet.

Dao Hen disappeared, disguised as a ball of transparent air.

Divine spells were used in succession.

The shackled Dao Hen’s chains were unlocked and the magic formation stopped working, but another Deceptive Disguise spell made those occurrences undetectable.

Restoration type divine spells quickly healed Dao Hen to peak condition.

“My God!”

“My grand Fish God Mist, you are my master, you granted me a second life.”

“Your benevolence will be etched into my memory, I, Dao Hen, will only believe in you for the rest of my life!!”

After being aided, the freed Dan Hen shouted in his mind.

He had been rescued as he despaired, and the incomparable gratefulness caused his belief to rapidly rise from an ordinary believer to a pious one!
