Chapter 275: Absorbing Experience and a Dragon Corpse

The nightly threads enveloped Snow Bird Harbor’s docks, and the sea waves were as gentle as a mother’s hand, softly patting the hulls as if placating a baby to sleep.

In the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ flagship the Love Triangle, the dragonman youngster was training alone in a room and fiddling with his Grand Arena Medal.

Different from last time, the Grand Arena Medal emitted a small white light, giving him a feeling of fullness.

The dragonman youngster surmised, “This should be caused by the large amount of battle experience it absorbed during today’s fight.”

He gripped the Grand Arena Medal and used his spirit to draw from the large amount of battle experience stored in it.

He was familiar with this step.

He had used the Grand Arena Medal before many times.

What was different was that there was an unprecedented amount of experience being poured into him this time.

It took a full 5 minutes for him to absorb all of the experience.

Then after resting for 3 minutes, his mind slowly came to.

This battle experience was another’s and not the dragonman youngster’s.

Therefore, when he absorbed external experience, it would have an impact on himself.

Using the Grand Arena Medal needed both tension and relaxation, it couldn’t be misused.

This was not a shortcoming of the Grand Arena Medal, because almost everything in the world needed tension and relaxation. Overuse would cause harm; money was the same too.

The Grand Arena Medal’s absorption mechanism made the user incapable of activating it between the scant seconds between fights.

This was the reason the dragonman youngster was unable to improve himself with the Grand Arena Medal during his battle with Spring Boxer.

The dragonman youngster sat cross-legged on the floor, slowly closed his eyes, and carefully comprehended the experience he just absorbed.

There was very little experience from the fight with Ban Lan Gen, that fight went too quickly and he wasn’t able to absorb any defensive battle skills, as the dragonman youngster had knocked him out in a single punch.

Almost all of the battle experience came from Spring Boxer.

Roughly 60% of it was his dashing and movement experience.

The other part concerned battle skills like Spring Shot Fist, Spiral Fist Wind, Reckless Fist, and Reverse Spring Legs.

Finally, the final last bit was about how he used his alchemically modified spring body. This part was quite worthless to the dragonman youngster.

The dragonman youngster recalled this experience, and it seemed like his body had been remodeled by alchemy and his elbows and knees had been replaced with alchemy springs.

This was an obvious conflict between his memories and self-perception.

Luckily, the impact this memory had on him was rather small, and it didn’t cause him to think he was another, blurring the lines between experience and reality.

“Let’s try sudden movement first.”

The dragonman youngster stood up and began to practice martial arts in the room, moving all over the place.

The martial arts training room was considered to be the most spacious room on the Love Triangle.

The Applaud Pirates’ commander Hu Li once used this room.

The training room had an alchemy puppet in it; it was tough and thick, able to absorb magic power from the reservoir to increase its defense. Not only that, but it could also repair itself and had been used as a boxing dummy by Hu Li.

The dragonman youngster didn’t use the alchemy puppet, instead he sprinted around the room.

Bang, thump, dink.

The dragonman youngster’s body was strong and heavy, and whenever his feet hit the floor, it would create a dull drum like noise.

But this sound didn’t ring outwards, because the practice room was soundproofed.

The simple dash movements felt different to the dragonman youngster.

He was constantly reflecting on the experience he had absorbed.

Spring Boxer’s experience was like an old yellow photograph gradually becoming colored, distinct, and vivid.

The dragonman youngster continuously adjusted and rapidly improved.

Spring Boxer and the dragonman youngster had both worked hard in this movement type, and the dragonman youngster absorbed that experience with his robust foundation very easily and at a high conversion rate.

After a dozen minutes, the dragonman youngster stopped moving.

He had made this part of the experience wholly his to use.

The improvement it gave him was also clear to the naked eye.

If he was merely familiar with it before, now he was perfect through practice.

Before, he didn’t have any energy to do anything else while dashing. Now, it was familiar and easy, and he could stop calmly and more easily shift his direction.

The dragonman youngster began to use the Surge battle skill.

Bang, thump, boom!

This time, the dragonman youngster made ten times the noise as before.

But the practice room was of rather high quality and was made entirely of silver level materials. It could not only absorb sound, but also intense vibrations too.

While using Surge, the dragonman youngster kept absorbing battle experience and adjusting himself.

His progress was visible to a layman’s eyes.

If anyone had been witnessing this, they would clearly notice the improvements in the dragonman youngster’s dashing movements.

Before, the explosions he wielded launched the dragonman youngster’s body like an artillery shell.

But now, his movements and jumps had become more graceful and lithe.

Although his speed hadn’t increased, his flexibility and control had vastly improved.

The dragonman youngster was gradually engrossed in his practicing.

After a half hour, he sensed that his progress was no longer improving at an obvious rate, so he regrettably stopped.

He had completely absorbed that portion of experience.

The dragonman youngster sank into reflection.

“Next, I need to practice Surge more and learn how to control its explosive might more.”

“Before, growth was average and in agreement with each other, now that my posture has improved by a large amount, this part has become a shortcoming.”

“So long as this portion is improved, my dashing and turning movements will be substantially improved.”

“Is there anyone who cultivates the Surge battle skill?”

It was easy to go from frugality to extravagance, but not the other way around. The dragonman youngster had gained a large amount of experience from the Grand Arena Medal in such a convenient and fast way, and the first thing he thought of was that he really wanted to find a suitable opponent to fight so he could gain their experience.

“Next up, Spring Boxer’s battle skills.”

The dragonman youngster began to try to practice Spring Boxer’s four battle skills.

These battle skills were widely circulated and had a detailed description in War Merchant’s database.

Spring Boxer came from the military and didn’t have familial relationships.

These battle skills came from transcendents of the Rubber bloodline.

As they cultivated, they created battle skills like the Spring Shot Fist, Reckless Fist, Reverse Spring Legs, and other battle skills.

Spring Boxer just chose these battle skills because he was compatible with them.

Although this was the first time the dragonman youngster had cultivated these battle skills, he quickly had results.

The difficulty of mastery was very low, and from beginning to end, the dragonman youngster never failed. It was as if he had practiced this before, and merely took a break for a while, then began to practice them again.

The most difficult part was the start, and after constant practice, his body remembered it.

The dragonman youngster didn’t practice them deeply, only a superficial session before stopping.

The dragonman youngster’s body structure was different from Spring Boxer’s and he didn’t have the Rubber bloodline either.

“This most suitable battle skill for my dragonman form is Reckless Fist.”

“Even so, this battle skill is more suitable for Spring Boxer and has a low compatibility with me.”

The dragonman youngster planned to practice another battle skill – Machine Gun Fist!

The actual combat effect of both were very similar, raising the frequency of punches to increase attack power.

The internal force application and mechanisms of both battle skills were also alike.

This was because Machine Gun Fist was the improved version of what Spring Boxer was using.

A transcendent that was fond of red waistcoats who had the Rubber bloodline had improved the basic skill Reckless Fist into Machine Gun Fist.

His inspiration had been machine guns.

This was a newly innovated type of weapon that had just popped up in the arms market in recent years.

Compared to Reckless Fist, Machine Gun Fist was better suited to the dragonman youngster, for he was in a contrary situation to Spring Boxer.

The dragonman youngster began to evaluate the key points to practice for Machine Gun Fist.

He quickly mastered it, and after using it several times in a row, he became very proficient at it, as if he had trained it for 3-5 years.

As of now, he had processed most of the battle experience.

The other parts were rather worthless to him, and he wisely chose to discard them.

“In the future, if there is a chance, I want to spar with Spring Boxer again.”

The Grand Arena Medal had improved the dragonman youngster by so much. Thus, the dragonman youngster had saved a considerable amount of time and energy.

Upon finishing his cultivation, the dragonman youngster opened the practice room’s door and secretly traveled to another cabin.

Zi Di was waiting for him there.

Today, the dragonman youngster spent the daylight hours fighting.

Zi Di meanwhile, had been visiting Snow Bird Harbor’s great markets to purchase a large amount of alchemy materials.

The Battle of Two Eyes Island had given the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps a lot of gold. Snow Bird Harbor was one of the great harbors of the Ice Sculpture Kingdom, and after some market research yesterday, Zi Di found that there were full stocks of materials here, both quality and quantity far surpassed Two Eyes Island.

“Lord Commander, today I purchased three dragon corpses.”

“They are all offshoots of the Flame Dragon King Bloodline based on the bloodline archive map.”

“This is a red tamed dragon, this is a hammer dragon, and this is a fat ocean dragon flank.”

The red tamed dragon tail was slender, it was the smallest of the three, and it was only slightly bigger than a normal sized cart.

The hammer dragon was short and stout, its dragon skin was yellow-green, and its most distinct trait was its ball shaped protrusion on its tail section, it looked like a circular hammer head.

The fat ocean dragon was the biggest of the three, despite just being a flank, it was far bigger than the other two corpses combined.

From the flank, one could see the fat ocean dragon’s deep blue dragon skin. It didn’t have scales, instead it had very smooth skin.

The dragon skin was 0.7 meters thick.

Under the dragon skin was ample layers upon layers of fat that bundled up viscera and seeped grease.

It is said that some giant tribes and titans domesticated the red tamed dragons for the purpose of becoming their hunting dogs.

The hammer dragon was a grass eating sub-dragon species, it had a lukewarm temperament, and only when its life was in danger would it lash out its dragon tail and erupt with strong and stalwart attacks.

The fat ocean dragon reproduced and dwelled in the deep sea, only a seldom few ventured into the shallows, thus, catching them was very hard, but people still kept on trying to devise all sorts of ways to fish them up.

Because they had massive economic value.

The fat ocean dragon’s fat could be cooked and refined into a unique kerosene, a widely used energy source in the Ice Sculpture Kingdom that was even more important to the kingdom.

The Ice Sculpture Kingdom had been always looking for how to breed fat ocean dragons on a massive scale, offering a large bounty to every great power for the last five hundred years.

The dragonman youngster absorbed each of the three dragon corpses.

The red tamed dragon gave him a lower leg and foot transformation.

The dragonman youngster turned his lower legs and feet into that of a red tamed dragon.

Compared to his previous thick and solid feet, the red tamed dragon feet were thinner. The toes spread open like petals and each of the toes had a bent hooked talon on them.

The dragonman youngster tried them out and found there was nothing to write home about them.

The dragonman youngster liked his prior form more, it could fully display his strength.

The bones of the red tamed dragon lower legs and feet were also slimmer, and were incompatible with the dragonman youngster’s upper body, and it felt really weird to him.

To speak plainly, the red tamed dragon toes’ hooked talons actually made it easy to climb and tear apart things.

An adult red tamed dragon could use their bent toes to grab hold of rocky surfaces and climb freely up precipices.

But this point of usefulness was not something the dragonman youngster needed currently.

The hammer dragon corpse gave the dragonman youngster a dragon tail transformation. He could now turn the tip of his tail into a hammer shape.

The dragonman youngster tossed his tail and noticed that this transformation had quite the growth potential, but it needed practice and a lot of time for diligent training.

Before that happened, recklessly transforming would instead hinder himself.

The fat ocean dragon corpse just gave him fat; it was not worth talking about something so negligible.

The dragonman youngster inherently didn’t have much hope for this and wasn’t disappointed at all.

To him, the true worth of these three dragon corpses was that it could raise the percentage of a complete Flame Dragon King bloodline.

After absorbing the three dragon corpses, the dragonman youngster’s Flame Dragon King bloodline concentration was elevated to 34%.

“Today I also purchased a lot of excellent alchemical and medicinal ingredients. Tonight, I will refine some good potions that should help you in your Lordship’s fight tomorrow.”

The dragonman youngster nodded, “Although I had two victories today, the Bayonet Gang will absolutely have a response to that, tomorrow will be a challenge!”

Zi Di added on, “In addition, we have more information pertaining to Teng Dong Lang.”

“His bloodline is the Holly bloodline, he simultaneously possess an ice and a wood attribute, though his battle skills trend more towards the ice attribute.”

“I suggest that before you challenge him Lord Commander, you absorb some white dragon bloodlines.”

The ice Sculpture had some white dragon communities in its territory, along with a large amount of white dragon subspecies.

The most populous of the white dragon subspecies was the hoar frost dragon.

If the dragonman youngster absorbed white dragon bloodlines, it could greatly improve his ice resistance, very helpful for dealing with Teng Dong Lang.

“Finally, I also inquired about some talents in Snow Bird Harbor.” Zi Di handed the dragonman youngster a list of several names composed mainly of alchemists and one outstanding silver level thief.

The dragonman youngster carefully looked at each name and their brief introduction, “You can contact them and investigate them further.”

Zi Di reminded him, “Lord Commander, if you display your strength and grace as much as possible in the coming fight, the difficulty in recruiting these talents will lower accordingly.”

The dragonman youngster smiled, “I will do my best!”
