Chapter 244: Weeping Pine Naval Battle – Part 3

Dian Wan’s head fell into the ocean, head over heels, his mind flickering between a daze and soberness, his entire body was ice-cold.

In his fiery impatience, he raged and shouted, “Ah ah ha…grr grr…ah ah…grr…”

Ding.

With an explosion, blue lightning burst out, causing a gigantic jet of water to rise.

The water scattered, and Dian Wan, his muscles flexing and lightning curing around him, stood on the ocean once again.

Hie entire body’s battle qi was active, he didn’t stint to spend any of it as the silver level ghost was squeezed out of it.

The silver level ghost became more transparent and was just about to throw itself into at Dian Wan, however, the latter knew he had eaten a loss and prioritized escape, instantly putting distance between the ghost.

The ghost chased right after Dian Wan.

Cang Xu controlled the ghost while feeling a trace of regret.

“If I had known a battle would occur, I would have sold off a silver level ghost at the undead gathering.”

He had a very burden on him now, and if he couldn’t control the ghost how he wished, it would be difficult to display its full combat potential.

In Cang Xu’s original plan, he really wanted to sell a silver level ghost during the undead gathering.

But the plan couldn’t keep up with change, and Cang Xu had easily obtained the Burden Alleviation and Karma Reduction spells.

With these two spells, he had changed his plan and kept a silver level ghost.

No one could have foreseen pirates attacking as he left the island.

Dian Wan had left his fleet in the dust as he charged at the Iron Lump. Meanwhile, the Lightning Pirates’ fleet was speeding up because they had extricated themselves from the skeleton archers.

“Overtake the captain!”

“He charged out by himself again.”

“Chase after him, he needs our assistance!!”

The pirates shouted, their morale high.

But a moment later, a large amount of ghosts came from the seafloor, penetrating through the bottom, the hulls, and stormed inside the pirate vessels.

The pirates were ambushed and sank into great chaos.

“Gho, ghosts!”

“Damn it, blades can’t cut them.”

“Eeeahh…”

For a moment, cries of alarm lingered on.

The one attacking was the ghost magician Qi Ling.

She had an army of water ghosts under her control.

Not limited to just that, she also began to use magic from her seafloor hiding place.

Necromancy spell – Middle Level Soul Sending.

A silver level ghost quietly made its way into the body of a helmsman.

Even though the helmsman was an iron level, he was immediately eroded, his eyes went wide, and his face was filled with fear, yet his mouth was silent, he could only look on helplessly as his body was taken over by the ghost.

Qi Ling coldly smiled on the sea floor.

A moment later, the ghost under her remote control forced the helmsman to turn the rudder fully to the left.

Another pirate ship shouted warnings while taking evasive action.

But it was no use.

The two had been rather close to each other, and every pirate ship had ghosts ambushing and slaughtering those aboard.

It was very difficult for the pirate ships to right their course in a timely manner.

Ding!

The two pirate ships collided.

A moment later, wood shavings flew as many pirates were tossed from the decks and masts.

The collision had left the two ships in a horrific state, their hulls had massive holes in them and lots of seawater was pouring into them!

Zi Di on the Deep Sea Monster Fish had been watching these two ships crash into each other.

“Amazing!” Zi Di couldn’t help but praise from the bottom of her heart.

Zi Di also knew the Soul Send spell.

She had once planned to use the Soul Send spell on the big guy’s body to help him complete his first battle qi circulation.

But Zi Di’s Soul Send spell was only the basic version. The magic allowed the caster to possess another lifeform or an object with their soul. The stronger the soul, despite being used on a corpse or a white skeleton, the created zombie or skeleton soldier would have exceptional intellect.

Qi Ling’s Soul Send spell was a level higher than that.

She could use Soul Send through her ghost troops, and by controlling the ghost, and the ghost controlling the target, she formed a control chain.

Doing this has many benefits.

The caster putting their soul into the target had a large element of risk to it. With a layer of separation, when the soul within one’s body was resolved, the necromancer would remain safe, for losing one ghost was worth it to secure their own safety.

In addition, the caster controlled many ghosts, and could take it a step further, they could control many targets simultaneously, letting them control the battlefield.

The magician Qi Ling only made one control chain, and that reduced two of the Lightning Pirates’ ships to scrap wood and cause the pirates aboard to cry for their parents as they jumped into the water to escape, one could see how powerful this magic was from this.

This was also the power of a magician.

This group could leverage stronger military power and had abundant methods available.

Therefore, in any battle, killing enemy magicians was a primary mission.

Qi Ling’s water ghost army’s attack had thrown the Lightning Pirates into disarray.

Luckily the first mate was still in command.

Their command structure hadn’t broken down yet and was still operating.

The Iron Lump was like an old ox as it puffed hard to sail ahead.

This was its highest speed.

Due to its strong defense and heavy hull materials, Iron Lump’s speed compared to its foes was no surprise.

On the Iron Lump’s aft, Cang Xu was watching the Lighting Pirates being devastated and couldn’t help but hope, “This is the true strength of necromancers!”

There were several hundred water ghosts, with at least two silver level ghosts among them.

The necromancer Qi Ling had been summoned back by Jian Gui and had served as his testing assistant for many years before being set free, yet she maintained a very close relationship with Jian Gui.

Cang Xu was able to obtain an advanced soul aspect inheritance from Jian Gui this day. It can be surmised that Qi Ling had gotten theirs far earlier

“The Burden Alleviation spell and Karma Reduction spell are so significant.”

“With these two supplementary spells a necromancer can be a one man army.”

Cang Xu had unending praise for them.

On the other side Qing Xin was using magic.

Wind path magic – Wind Signal spell.

Qing Xin transmitted to Dian Wan, “Dian Wan, your troops are being swiftly decimated, are you not going to save them?”

Dian Wan knew full well the devastation laid upon his pirate group, and when he heard Qing Xin’s words, he couldn’t help but glance behind him.

But a moment later, he still bit his teeth and continued to pursue the Iron Lump!

Dian Wan’s choice made Qing Xin grow ever graver.

Cang Xu calmly ordered, “Activate the sail.”

Qing Xin’s look instantly changed.

“I’ll overtake you! I’ll repay the damage you’ve done to us tenfold!” Dian Wan screamed in his thoughts.

The distance between both had closed to its maximum when Dian Wan jumped with all he had!

Buzz, hmm, buzz…

A great amount of magic power flowed from the magic power reservoir into the Feather Snake Sail.

The magic power passing through the temporary connecting channel produced a resounding buzzing.

This made Qing Xin look onwards with worry, she was very anxious that the temporary channel wouldn’t be able to bear the flow and would collapse at this crucial moment.

Luckily, the materials Cang Xu had used were exceptionally sturdy and Qing Xin’s worries weren’t realized for the time being.
