Chapter 243: Weeping Pine Naval Battle – Part 2

As the Iron Lump left the island, the pirates tore away their camouflage and sailed at top speed, officially opening the prologue the Weeping Pine Island naval battle.

Cang Xu did his best to sail the Iron Lump as he pondered their course.

“To the east is the Stench Pirates, with 13 ships in total. The flagship is the Stinky Tofu and isn’t very fast, no need to consider it for the time being.”

“To the northeast is the Applaud Pirates. Their commander Hu Li and the Applaud battle squad working in tandem have air warfare capabilities, a thorny problem. At the same time, their flagship, the Love Triangle, is a long distance voyaging ship. It possess a silver level triangle sail and can even maintain its speed in a headwind.

“As for the southeast, the Lightning Pirates are there. They have a total of 7 ships, and they have excellent speed. Their flagship the Electric Fish Net is a remolded fishing vessel; it can put down electric nets.”

The information on these three pirate groups was easy to gather.

In addition, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps fought on Two Eyes Island and naturally had full and accurate information on them.

After Cang Xu thought it through, he chose to head south of Weeping Pine Island.

“Damn it!” Upon seeing the Iron Lump, Bei Xiang exploded in anger.

It was obvious that the Iron Lump had chosen to avoid the Applaud Pirates and would rather face the Lightning Pirates.

This was the correct choice.

The Lightning Pirates’ ships were all fast, but they were ordinary ships. Their only iron level magic ship, the Electric Fish Net, was not as speedy.

The Applaud Pirates had no choice but to go around the island to continue pursuing. Furthermore, due to Weeping Pine Island blocking their line of sight, they effectively lost vision of the Iron Lump.

Bei Xiang was very worried that if the other pirate groups captured the Iron Lump, he would get less spoils of war.

Dian Wan was a sharp contrast to the indignant Bei Xiang.

The pirate commander burst into laughter, “The prey is delivering themselves to us!”

His fleet attacking from the southeast was the closest to the Iron Lump’s route.

The Iron Lump didn’t have a qualified helmsman on board, only Cang Xu reluctantly taking on the job.

This magic ship wasn’t confident in turning around the island, it could only sail in a straight line and scrape past Weeping Pine Island on its way out.

“Chase it down!” Dian Wan excitedly shouted.

The Iron Lump wasn’t that fast and was like an old ox being hunted down by a pack of wolves.

The distance between both sides quickly closed.

Qing Xin was nervous, “We must activate the sail now!”

The sail she was talking about was the Feather Snake Sail.

A gold level magic ship component.

Currently, Cang Xu and Qing Xin had to work together to form a magic power reservoir that was channeled into the sail.

Not only that, but they had also wrapped the sail in a layer of plain white cloth, a cursory disguise as an ordinary sail.

But when the gold sail was activated, its gold aura would be emitted, and its disguise would vanish in an instant.

Cang Xu shook his head to Qing Xin’s suggestion, “No, wait a bit.”

Soon after, the distance between both sides had halved.

Qing Xin suggested again, “Activate the sail!”

“No, not yet!” Cang Xu was indifferent, his tone was tranquil, but he was growing increasingly nervous.

Several minutes later.

The distance had nearly been closed, and both sides could see the people on each other’s ships.

Qing Xi was anxious, “Activate it, or else this ship is finished!”

Cang Xu tightened his lips, and didn’t say anything as he looked towards Weeping Pine Island.

Crack.

Suddenly, an echoing gunshot cause both sides to quiver.

Dian Wan flew into a rage, “Which idiot opened fire?!”

“What would you do if you shot my ship?”

“If you shot my things, what would you do to compensate for it?!”

When he said that, he had treated such a presumption as truth.

Not just Dian Wan, the others were also tenaciously looking for the shooter.

A pitiful pirate quickly threw down his firearm and raised both hands, “No, it isn’t my fault. This wretched firearm accidently went off!”

Just as they said that a bone arrow whooshed through the air and shot the pirate in the throat.

The pirate went stiff, then fell face first to the deck, dying tragically on the spot.

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh…

A moment later, a large amount of wretched bone white arrows flew out, forming a tight rain of arrows.

Many human skeleton archers came out of the pine trees.

Meanwhile, Cang Xu’s communication device transmitted Xiao Wang Zi’s voice, “Newcomer, don’t be afraid, I’m here to help you.”

“Get out of here!” Said Ku Feng.

“We will cover for you.” Qi Ling echoed too.

Xiao Wang Zi ended with, “Don’t forget that Weeping Pine Island has my Eulogy Tombstone, we can teleport out, don’t be so worried!”

“Success!” Cang Xu’s eyes flashed as he let out a big breath.

He successfully made use of the members of the undead gathering.

Furthermore, this method was very ingenious.

He didn’t ask them for help directly, because officially requesting it might not really work. Because Cang Xu was very suspicious and needed both a long time and due course of events to gradually earn their trust.

Therefore, Cang Xu chose to issue a warning and that he didn’t wish to encumber them, he didn’t want to look like he wanted to draw support from the others.

By doing this, it was instead easier to gain their trust.

These undead, would they really stay out of it and watch on unfeeling as Cang Xu was captured?

Of course not.

If Cang Xu was captured, he might confess things about them.

Cang xu was a newcomer, and this was the first time they had met him. Even if one knew each other for many years, they too would confess under torture and the threat of death and betray their former friendship.

In Jian Gui’s point of view, he was extremely likely to help out.

The first reason was that he was a gold level and the pirates’ strongest member was just silver.

The second reason was that Jian Gui was considering his prestige. He had helped Ku Feng, Xiao Wang Zi, and Qi Ling many times, regardless of how sincere he really was, it was still within his benefits to set out and not watch on as Cang Xu was arrested before his very eyes.

If Jian Gui was this “cold blooded”, how would Ku Feng, Xiao Wang Zi, Qi Ling, and others see him?

The three would have similar apprehensions, all of them were undead, all of them were pushed aside by the world, every great power was hunting them, and if Jian Gui didn’t save one of them when he could, was he really so magnanimous?

Absolutely not, these apprehensions were a blow to Jian Gui’s prestige.

Cang Xu knew the hearts of men, and with this foundation, he put his stratagem into action.

First, he knew the other undead had a good opinion of him. Because during the gathering, he had done the most transactions. Everyone had exchanged benefits. Who didn’t like a scholar and trading partner with abundant capital?

If the gold sail had been activated earlier, the undead would have hesitated if they saw what was going on the Iron Lump.

Cang Xu chose to take a risk as he watched the Lightning Pirates approach, nearly risking a boarding action in order to put himself in danger.

When Jiang Gui and the others saw one of their own caught up in danger, how could they not act?

The probability of them acting was quite high.

When one of them acted, it would undoubtedly spur on the others to do so too.

Not even Jian Gui would watch with folded arms as this happened.

He was a gold level necromancer!

Cang Xu’s gamble paid off, he had utilized his own intelligence to successfully influence the other undead into attacking!

The skeleton archers must be Xiao Wang Zi’s troops.

Their volleys were pretty good, and they caught the Lightning Pirates off guard, inflicting heavy casualties.

Dian Wan became furious, “What’s going on?”

His first mate had already taken command.

Bang, bang, bang.

The Lightning Pirates’ cannons fired, aiming at the skeleton arches in the trees.

The artillery shells exploded into the pine trees, blowing branches and leaves into the sky.

The skeleton arches were turned into bone fragments under the bombardment, unable to withstand it.

However, Xiao Wang Zi, who was hidden in some secret place, was not fretful, on the contrary, he was enjoying himself quietly and mumbled, “Kill them, kill them, I want more of these small skeletons, I have many of them.”

After the Lightning Pirates did their bombardment, they found that although many skeleton archers were slain, they were more coming from all directions and filling in the gaps without delay.

The Lightning Pirates were constantly enveloped by arrows, and their casualties were steadily mounting.

The first made shouted to Dian Wan, “Commander, the enemy’s military power is unknown, this cost is too disadvantageous to us!”

Dian Wan clenched his fists and bit his teeth, “Necromancers are so annoying! I didn’t expect that he’d leave arrangements here.”

Because of Xiao Wang Zi’s assistance, the Lightning Pirates were forced to retreat from Weeping Pine Island.

Xiao Wang Zi’s skeleton archers couldn’t shoot as far as cannons, and very quickly, they couldn’t threaten the Lightning Pirates anymore.

Anyways, due to this delay, the distance between the Lightning Pirates and the Iron Lump had increased.

Dian Wan was incessantly furious as he watched the distance between them grow. His impulses bubbled up and he decided to do something on the spot, “I will charge them!”

“No, hold on!” The first mate rushed to stop him, “The enemy ‘s power is unknown, don’t be reckless…”

The first mate stopped talking.

Because Dian Wan had already run out.

He had alchemy equipment, the water walking boots, and as a result, he could treat the ocean surface as soft land that he could run across.

When the first mate saw Dian Wan running out, he deeply sighed and quickly ordered, “Discharge the electric nets now!”

The Flagship Electric Fish Net immediately shot its bow cannon.

It shot a special type of artillery shell.

After the artillery shell flew into the sky, it instantly spread open and formed a large iron net.

The large iron net fell onto the ocean surface and flattened itself across it, then burst with dazzling blue lightning.

Dian Wan’s eyes shined, and he strode onto the momentarily floating electric net.

The electric net expediated Dian Wan’s battle qi, causing it to suddenly explode with all of its might.

Dian Wan focused the electric current, and his pointed blue hair became even more straight as lightning twisted around his entire body.

Battle skill – Electric Current Overload.

“Ah ah ah, I feel power brimming from head to toe!”  Dian Wan’s muscles swelled somewhat, and his spry body immediately became thick and strong.

Whoosh!

Dian Wan ferociously stomped on the iron net crackling with electricity, causing it to sink into the seawater while he shot towards the Iron Lump with speed comparable to that of an arrow.

Cang Xu and Qing Xin had been prepared for this, and both used their magic.

Dian Wan nimbly moved, dodging Qing Xin’s wind blades, but Cang Xu’s ghost came, throwing itself into his body.

The large amount of negative energy instantly eroded at Dian Wan, while simultaneously, the ghost’s memories also poured into Dian Wan’s sea of consciousness, blurring his original memory!

Dian Wan’s fierce charge was immediately routed.

Plop.

He fell down, head first into the seawater.

But his water walking boot were still working, so he was floating upside down, his feet on the surface, and his head underwater.
