Chapter 204: The Cloud Ball Rises Again
“Warning, naval vessel 1,200 meters from the ocean surface.”
“Warning, naval vessel 1,000 meters from the ocean surface.”
“Warning, naval vessel 800 meters from the ocean surface.”
…..
Warnings sounded out urgently throughout the Golden Flash.
The old fishman elder grabbed at the operating controls to stabilize himself in the shaking main cabin, and said to Hun Tong, “Do something!”
“Never mind that, the ship has emergency measures!” Hun Tong yelled back.
He had a far better balance than the fishman elder.
No matter how violently the hull swayed and slanted, Hun Tong’s feet at the helm seemed to be nailed to the floor.
He had already used his spirit to mobilize one of the Golden Flash’s abilities.
A moment later, two parts of the Golden Flash bent to form cavities.
Two balloons jetted out from those cavities.
The two balloons were made out a special material and there seemed to be a layer of white paint across their surfaces.
When they were rolled up, balloons were small in volume.
But after being ejected and inflated ferociously, the two balloons swiftly looked like two white clouds that completely covered the skies above the Golden Flash.
The two “white clouds” were connected to the hull with many chains.
The “white clouds” produced immense buoyancy.
The Golden Flash’s falling speed plummeted.
Soon after, it floated in the air once more.
“500 meters from the ocean surface,” The warnings ceased.
“These are Cloud Balls, silver level components, but very practical.” Hun Tong explained to the old fishman elder.
After the hull stabilized, he enabled the Golden Flash’s thrust module.
Everyone watched as the Golden Flash slowly rose back into the sky after dropping some distance.
In the main light cannon turret, Hun Tong apologized to the old fishman elder, “My ship driving skill is quite low, I can only operate it at a base level. I can’t push the hull back into flight while the hull is tilted and shaking, it would be more liable to go out of control.”
“Hull damage evaluated as minor.”
“But mending is very troublesome. It can’t be done on Two Eyes Island.”
“In fact, it can’t be done at most shipyards and alchemy workshops.”
“This is an experimental imperial magic ship.”
Hun Tong wiped his sweat away as he said this.
The old fishman elder urged him, “Don’t explain such nonsense, who and where is the enemy? If another attack like that comes again, can you maneuver the flagship from of it?”
“I can only do my best!” Hun Tong frowned.
Before the old fishman elder had urged it, he had begun do investigate already.
Through his spirit control, the wall projected a magic image.
The image transmitted was one of the Deep Sea Monster Fish hidden on the seafloor raising its head to shell the Golden Flash.
Upon seeing the culprit, Hun Tong and the clan elder pursed their brows.
“A gold level magic beast?”
“No, it is a giant fishman. A fishman and giant hybrid is normally retarded.”
“His mouth just sprayed out an electric current, what kind of skill was that?”
“Perhaps it is the Thunder Titan bloodline?”
The two gold levels constantly guessed.
They didn’t recognize that the Deep Sea Monster Fish was really an alchemy magic ship.
The Deceptive Disguise formation fooled them.
The Golden Flash had outstanding detection capabilities, but it too identified the Deep Sea Monster Fish as a giant fishman-like gold level life form.
This appearance was exactly what War Merchant wanted to show to the outside world.
After checking who the culprit was, Hun Tong hesitated, “It’s also on the seafloor.”
“Now the question is, is it one of your trump cards?”
Hun Tong looked at the fishman elder and asked a crucial question.
The clan elder hesitated for a bit, then shook his head as he told the truth, “I’m not sure.”
The naga priestess and the Blue Green Coral fishman clan were just working together, not knowing the other’s foundation was very normal.
The naga priestess’ group was higher in status to the fishman clan.
The clan elder had hidden one of his true intentions from the naga priestess, fundamentally deceiving her to smoothly rescue his daughter.
He could assume that the naga priestess hiding a trump card from the fishman clan was completely understandable.
“If my communication device wasn’t broken, I could directly contact the Lord Priestess.” The fishman elder sighed.
Without that, he couldn’t verify it instantly.
Lacking a communication device really was inconvenient.
Hun Tong looked vexed and ashamed, “Blame me, when I saw the communication device in your bosom, I intentionally broke it first.”
“Actually, we don’t need to contact her, we can guess that this giant fishman is very likely to be part of the naga priestess’ force.”
The old fishman elder nodded, approving this conjecture.
Just from the giant fishman’s shape, one would notice that it was bound to have an inseparably close connection with the fishmen race.
It obviously attacked the Golden Flash because it was supporting the fishman and Hun Tong was the enemy.
Actions declared one’s position stronger than words!
Hun Tong thought even more, “Since I kept the Golden Flash out of sight until the right moment, why can’t the naga priestess to the same too?”
“In this respect, she is even more patient than I.”
The Golden Flash sustaining this attack is also my blunder.”
After the two people judged it as so, they decided not to retaliate against the Deep Sea Monster Fish.
The old fishman elder certainly wouldn’t fire upon his own people.
Because of the agreement’s influence, Hun Tong was more sincere than him.
Since the giant fishman was determined to be “one of them”. Hun Tong wouldn’t incite internal friction.
He was indeed doing his best to help the fishmen take back Two Eyes Island!
“I have some bad news to tell you, my body has a constant divine spell on it.”
“As the flagship was falling, the divine spell was triggered, and the agreement’s influence is currently weakening rapidly.”
“We have no time to waste!” Hun Tong heavily confessed to the old fishman elder.
All kinds of magic exist in the world.
There were no shortages of skills that affected will.
People of high position often wore defensive equipment or maybe constant magic and divine spells to protect themselves.
Hun Tong was no exception.
However, the Devil Gold Coins’s power was somewhat unique.
Before now, the divine spell’s power hadn’t reacted.
But as Hun Tong was continued to be under the coins’ influence, the divine spell was consequently stimulated.
The old fishman elder’s face changed and he instantly asked, “How much time is left, can you accomplish your proposed plan?”
Hun Tong shook his head bitterly, “I don’t know, I am not a divine official, I am not even a caster! I have no experience with the confrontation and depletion of divine spells.”
“It is possible that this speed will persist until the end.”
“It is also possible that when the agreement’s power is depleted to a certain degree, it will collapse and dissipate faster.”
“It is also possible that my divine spell’s power will be exhausted, and the depletion of the agreement’s power will decrease.”
The old fishman elder was immediately troubled by what he heard.
Both he and Hun Tong were fighters.
Hun Tong didn’t know, and neither did the old fishman elder.
The old fishman elder though on it, then shouted, “Attack the gold levels first!”
He also thought of other plans.
Such as leaving the Golden Flash and converging with the naga priestess to inform of the situation.
This would also get her to order the giant fishman to stop attacking the Golden Flash and instead fight together with it to inflict heavy casualties on the human powers.
The old fishman elder wasn’t worried of winning the naga priestess’ trust.
The pile of Devil Gold Coins had come from the naga priestess.
But if he did this, then it would take too much time. So long that the giant fishman on the seafloor would attack a second time.
More crucially, the old fishman elder was nervous of Hun Tong’s condition.
If he was entangled not long after departing, and wasn’t able to make a swift return, would the agreement’s influence over Hun Tong end during that time?
The old fishman elder had many misgivings.
He thought of something else, “When we begin bombarding the gold levels, whether or not we kill the targets, it is sure to trigger severe repercussions.”
He had done this before.
With the help of the Frozen Land Whale’s racial magic, he had stormed onto the Golden Flash’s deck.
“In the event that a gold level attacks this ship, if I am still on it, I can aid Hun Tong’s alchemy clone in ambushing them.”
“Maybe I can severely wound and even kill them!”
“At minimum it will guarantee that Hun Tong isn’t disturbed, allowing him to fully display this flying magic ship’s destructive power!”
The old fishman elder was of high status, old and wise, and after carefully pondering, he chose a dependable plan.
His gaze always stayed on Hun Tong.
“If Hun Tong reacts fishy, I will kill him thoroughly!”
“I cannot allow him to recover and wield the Golden Flash in a wanton slaughter of my people.”
“However, I also need to act cautiously, and not too hastily.”
“The agreement specifically states this: aid the fishmen in retaking Two Eyes Island.”
“He is under the Devil Gold Coins’ influence, and the content of this agreement is his true doctrine of conduct.”
“If I act against him too early and he judges that his survival will be more beneficial for the fishman’s recapture of the island, then he will still retaliate and fight me.”
“Because he can control the Golden Flash, this magic ship affect the entire war situation, far more than a gold level fighter like me!”
The clan elder didn’t have a young fishman’s impulses, he was very old, had led his clan for many years, and his rough life experience had given him much.
Despite the developments and changes being so sudden and strange, he had adapted to the situation in a short amount of time and after sufficient pondering, he carried out the tactics most beneficial for his side.
“After the bombardment, I hope the Lord Priestess realizes Hun Tong’s change.
“Thereby preventing the giant fishman from attacking the Golden Flash!”
The clan elder was unable to attend to other things right now and had no choice but to hope that his ally’s mutual understanding was compatible with his actions.
“Rise up, rise up!”
“Our ship hasn’t crashed!”
“Victory belongs to us.”
When the human fighters saw the Golden Flash soaring back up, they cheered one after the other.
The prior scene had scared them so much that many of their hearts jumped a beat.
Now they were overjoyed, and morale stabilized, maintaining their high condition.
By contrast, most of the fishmen had become ashen with defeat.
The Golden Flash’s silhouette high in the sky put enormous psychological pressure on them.
None of them expected the prior bombardment.
Almost none of them had any way of attacking the Golden Flash, and they could only passively take a beating from the light beam bombardments.
Of the enemy and ally, those that should be happy aren’t, and those that shouldn’t be celebrating were very excited.
As this ironic and ridiculous situation played out, the main light cannon opened fire once again!
