Chapter 176: Hong Zhu Goes Grave Robbing
Two Eyes Island.
The new island.
The barracks battlefield.
“A truly peculiar blade skill!” Ku Feng’s battle skill was blocked by Dao Hen again, but the former wasn’t discouraged in the slightest, on the contrary his battle intent flourished, and his eyes grew brighter.
After fighting Dao Hen, Ku Feng immediately realized that the origin of Dao Hen’s unusual bladework lay with Dao Hen’s pair of forearm blade fins.
This special body structure and Dao Hen’s handed down battle skills had united blades and being together from the beginning.
“You are a good opponent.”
“Unfortunately, you are a fishman.”
“It’s now my turn to use my full strength.”
Ku Feng had been holding his katana with two hands, but now he wielded it in one while taking out a dagger with the other.
The dagger emitted an iron level aura, it was an alchemy weapon.
Ku Feng imbued the dagger with battle qi.
He was silver level.
Silver battle qi could imbue things, a qualitative change that distinguished it from iron levels. But there was a restriction, the imbued thing had to be held by the fighter at all times. If it separated from them, silver battle qi couldn’t imbue it from a distance.
When the dagger was imbued with silver battle qi, it instantly grew bigger and longer.
The dagger quickly became a second katana.
This katana was a bit shorter than Ku Feng’s main weapon.
Ku Feng held this katana in one hand.
He held the katanas in front of him in the shape of an X.
Battle skill – Cross Chop!
The two katanas glistening with silver battle qi formed an integrated whole.
Dao Hen took a deep breath, restrained his vertigo, and used a battle skill too.
His blade fins shined with silver light too.
Ding!
The two launched at each other at the same time.
In the middle, they brushed past each other.
The moment the blades crossed formed a soundwave that nearly blew out eardrums.
The two figures swiftly landed a dozen paces from each other, neither moving.
A few seconds later, Ku Feng let out a breath and collapsed into a kneeling position.
He covered his chest, for near his heart there was a shallow blade cut.
“I lost!” Ku Feng was shocked.
During the blade clash, he had received outside help.
Shi Fa!
If he hadn’t, Dao Hen would have impaled Ku Feng’s heart.
Dao Hen remained motionless.
He had Shi Fa’s magic on him – Fishman Immobilization Spell.
Not only that, but his arms and chest fish scales were sliced up. Ku Feng had dealt this injury when his two blades intersected to form an X.
“rlngmmalrnganl”
The fishman Hong Bo charged over to attempt to save Dao Hen.
But the Wealth Church priest intercepted him.
Shi Fa sneered and took out a card.
A card whirling in the air suddenly activated and shot out a gloomy green ray of light.
The ray of light pierced Hong Bo.
A terrifying wound the size of a head was made in his chest.
One could see through Hong Bo’s body.
Magic spell – Sunder!
Hong Bo froze and stared like a statue.
A gust of wind blew, and he fell to the ground with a loud bang.
He was dead!
When Dao Hen saw this, he was furious; unfortunately, he couldn’t move.
“Shi Fa, well done.” The Wealth priest exclaimed in admiration.
He didn’t expect that it would be Shi Fa who would be the final contributor.
Dao Hen and Hong Bo were silver level fishmen fighters, and Shi Fa was the biggest figure that led t o one being injured and the other dying.
Shi Fa shook his head, “He didn’t have enough battle qi, he was already a spent force.”
“My Sunder spell wasn’t offset silver battle qi; thus, it was one shot, one kill!”
“Of course, the most important people are you two, without you both impeding them, how could I so calmly cast my magic?”
Shi had good eyes, and although he was a loner, his communication skills weren’t lacking.
Upon seeing he was willing to divide the merit, regardless of whether it was with the priest or Ku Feng, people eased up on him.
“Put him down and have him wait for torture and interrogation!” After seeing the fighting finish, the auxiliary city guard commander promptly brought people over to clean up the battlefield.
Shi Fa nodded, “Look after him well.”
“What a pity.” When Ku Feng saw Da Hen being captured, he felt regret.
If they weren’t an enemy, perhaps they might have been friends.
“Lord Hun Tong, we’ve won! Thanks to Shi Fa, Ku Feng, and the priest, we routed the fishmen attacking the barracks and killed one silver level and captured the other.” The auxiliary city guard commander reported to Hun Tong through an alchemy device.
Hun Tong was whirling in the air, dodging Qi You’s attacks.
This was the only good news he’d heard since the battle began.
“Nicely done.”
“When merits are evaluated after the battle, you all will be heavily rewarded!”
When the auxiliary commander heard this, his eyes brightened and he excitedly replied, “Feudal Lord, what will we do next?”
Hun Tong gazed at the port battlefield and the chaotic streets full of pirates, yet he still retained his prior order, “Defend and wait for aid!”
“Understood!” The auxiliary commander complied.
He secretly let out a breath and relaxed.
After crushing Hong Bo, Dao Hen, and their troops, he was worried that he would be dispatched to fight in other areas.
The new island was in a terrible situation.
There were pirates everywhere, the port battlefield was a desperate close quarters clash, the sea was filled with entangled ships, and the battle was spreading like wildfire.
One needed to be at least a silver level to feel somewhat safe.
The order to defend was what the auxiliary commander wanted to hear most.
“What do you two plan to do next?” The Wealth Church priest asked Shi Fa and Ku Feng.
“The barracks defense mission is complete. I want to go to the Mercenary Guild first to look at the missions there. No matter if it is attacking the fishmen or dealing with those pirates, I and ready to devote my strength to it. Of course, remuneration is necessary.” Shi Fa said candidly.
Ku Feng replied, “I need to help protect the Flint Store.”
After saying that, he passed like thunder and moved like the wind.
The priest looked at Shi Fa, “Then please move with me. A mission from the Wealth Church will have a greater reward.”
Shi Fa nodded, “Priest, do you want to take back your church?”
Shi Fa knew the Wealth Church had fallen into enemy hands,
But the priest shook his head, “We will go near the church first, link up with the Fertile Land Church priest, and amass more strength.”
“As for the church…”
“It is already too late, taking it back is insignificant, instead we need to divide our force to guard the area.
“At present, Lord Hun Tong, Song Shou, and Yan Ding are busy, and as silver levels, our presence on the battlefield can change the entire outcome.”
“I plan to help the port first.”
“After eliminating the silver level fishmen and taking back control of the port, we can then help the maritime battlefield.”
At this crucial moment, the Wealth priest displayed his responsibility and understanding of the situation.
Shi Fa nodded, “We’ll go then!”
The auxiliary commander bid them farewell and immediately gave the order to reorganize the barracks, secure the doors, and rely on the light cannon turret to defend this place to the death!
“Save me, save me!” Residents fled as they cried out for help.
Poof.
A pirate thrusted their blade into the back of a fleeing resident.
The white knife came out red.
After killing the resident, the pirate raised his foot and stepped on the corpse, using his foot to crush the corpse’s head, “Run away! Run away!”
He grinned maliciously, bent down, turned the corpse around, and searched them.
When he pulled his arm back out, he had wrested out a gold sculpture.
“If you gave it to me earlier, you might have lived.” The pirate complacently put the sculpture into his own pocket and ran his eyes around.
The chase had separated himself from the main force.
But the pirate was daring and impulsive, he wasn’t worried and instead excitedly stood back up.
With no accomplices, everything he found belonged to him alone.
“If I run across an expert that kills me, then that will be my own back luck!”
Ding.
The pirate ruthlessly kicked open a door and charged into a family courtyard.
The courtyard was decorated sparsely, but exquisitely.
The pirate plundered it, overturning trunks and boxes, but found nothing valuable.
He swore as he strode around, not knowing that a silver level fighter hiding in a corner had observed everything he had been doing.
It was Hong Zhu.
This was Hong Zhu’s small courtyard. When the new island floated up, she rented it and made it one of her bases.
After the auction, such radical changes occurred that pirates were even ransacking her residence.
Of course, it was no issue for Hong Zhu to kill the pirate.
“There is no need to do that.”
“Everything valuable is in my storage belt.”
Unlike other loners, Hong Zhu was not interested in taking on missions to deal with the fishmen or pirates for monetary gain.
“This is a chance that comes only once in a blue moon.”
“It’s time to move!”
Hong Zhu restrained her aura, masked her tracks, and quickly left the small courtyard.
She was a veteran treasure hunter and was good at invisibility and stealth.
During treasure hunts, she often needed to conceal herself and slink about, this was her trade and living.
Therefore, neither pirates, nor fishmen nor other loners noticed Hong Zhu.
She easily arrived at the cemetery.
It was her destination.
It was where the Wealth Parish buried their believers with as generous funerary objects as possible.
Two Eyes Island was a big commerce island, one run well by Hun Tong, and so it was filled with many rich inhabitants.
Therefore, the quantity and quality of the funerary objects were quite considerable.
Hong Zhu was a treasure hunter and had been planning to target these graves.
If the auction hadn’t gone to her satisfaction, she might have robbed these tombs to collect money for her next adventure.
The cemetery’s defenses couldn’t be looked down on.
Hong Zhu had probed into them several times before, but didn’t take genuine action, because it was too risky.
But right now, Hong Zhu instantly noticed that the defenses had vanished, now the main defenses here were magic traps and monitoring alchemy constructs.
Hong Zhu was certain she could deal with such things.
“As expected, the pirates didn’t think of coming to the cemetery, they have their hands full robbing living people and won’t be interested in this place.”
Hong Zhu grew increasingly excited.
She acted at once, bypassing the magic traps and avoiding the alchemy constructs to gradually get deeper into the cemetery.
