Chapter 147: A Vampire’s Cookbook

The food recorded in the vampire’s cookbook was naturally not conventional food, but rather blood.

The Vampire Duke recorded how every species’ blood tasted, when to drink them, what the optimal way to drink them was, and other such things.

To help his offspring and their descendants, he sealed the blood of many species in this alchemy book.

“Of course, the legend level dragon and nine headed serpent blood is no longer sealed in it.”

“This cookbook has changed hands too many times, and many collectors extracted its blood samples for alchemy materials and so on.”

After the auction master gave a detailed explanation, the auction began.

The highest level blood sample still in the Vampire Duke’s cookbook was merely silver level.

All of the gold level blood samples had been extracted already.

In fact, the existent blood samples were also incomplete, only parts of them were preserved.

Even so, this was something Zi Di and Cang Xu had to have!

Because with this cookbook, the survivors could save lots of time and energy.

In order to purify bloodlines, they were undertaking a major engineering project.

The blood samples inside the cookbook would reduce the construction period!

Not many people were bidding.

Besides magicians, there were a few merchants bidding too. The latter wanted to speculate while the former wanted to use the blood samples as alchemy or casting materials.

It had to be said that the guests at Two Eyes Island’s auction were pragmatic folk.

Zi Di didn’t act.

Her acting might trigger a malignant price competition.

The dragonman youngster didn’t disappoint expectations and beat the last competitor, Commander Tie Bang, to become the ultimate winner.

Commander Tie Bang spent too much money buying the Ocean Kingn Fishing Rod earlier.

Overall, this was a relaxed auction.

What no one knew was that this even more important to the survivors than the Miracle Flower Pot was to the Fertile Land priest!

Upon seeing the auction master’s hammer drop and room 14 becoming the victor, Cang Xu and Zi Di nearly cheered.

But it was only after the delivery was completed and the dragonman youngster clutched the Vampire Duke’s cookbook in his hands did Cang Xu and Zi Di completely relax.

The two people conversed; their hearts deeply moved.

“I didn’t expect to have such a thing at this auction.”

“Yes, I’d almost venture to affirm that this is our greatest gain from this auction.”

The Vampire Duke’s cookbook surpassed all previous items.

It was extremely significant to the survivors!

Especially since the dragonman youngster purchased it at a low price for such time saving thing.

It had to be said that the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps’ strategy of dividing into two teams was both proper and sagacious, and this result verified that it lived up to expectations.

The entire auction had been meticulously planned by Hun Tong, and the antiques section’s sales prices was inferior to the other sections. However, the various strange and bewildering goods was a feast for the eyes that increased everyone’s interest, opened their horizons, and left them wanting more.

When the first bulk sale appeared, signifying that the antique segment had finished, the people couldn’t help but sigh in relief.

The bulk sales was the auction’s second to last section; it was nearing its end.

Similarly, loners like Hong Zhu and Shi Fa lost interest.

But the Clam Cloth and Flint Merchant Alliance representatives and those like them were very spirited. They were the main supplier of this segment.

If the auction price was high, these branch managers would always benefit and allow them to improve their respective accomplishments and evaluations with their respective merchant alliance.

The first auction was food.

A large number of various types of magic beast meat appeared before everyone’s eyes.

This auction’s clientele was cultivators, and 80% of cultivators were fighters. Magicians and clergy made up the remining 20%.

Fighters had a high demand for magic beast meat, it was their daily food.

Magic beast meat could help a fighter’s cultivation.

This was one of the Clam Cloth Merchant Alliance’s main operations.

Because of the rigid demand of the six great human merchant alliances, the Clam Cloth Merchant Alliance was the strongest.

Upon seeing all kinds of magic beast meat on stage, everything from the bronze level to the silver level, the dragonman youngster couldn’t help but recall the mutton they had eaten on Mystifying Monster Island.

For this reason, they were poisoned.

After ascertaining the truth afterwards, they found out the true culprit was the Frost Poison Grass.

The grass’ life aura was very ordinary, however it actually contained abundant ice path magic power. After the artificial goats ate this grass, the magic power within the goats caused those who ate them to be poisoned.

“If we had a fixed base, we could farm this grass at scale.”

“Have some magic beasts eat them, then sell their magic beast meat.”

“If it worked, it would, it would be a big business.”

Despite the dragonman youngster not understanding business that well, he understood that this industry had maximum profits.

But all of this needed stability.

Currently, although the survivors had established the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps, their external environment was not good, and from beginning to end, immense pressure was on them. They were seeking a noble contact that could help them towards imperial redemption, which would transform their circumstances and win them an opportunity to grow. After all, the empire was too powerful.

The auction began.

Pirates, mercenary corps, and even One Eye representing the patrol fleet along with great merchant alliances participated.

Essentially, every power required magic beast meat.

This kind of bulk sale was not commonly seen, and if one finely calculated the price, they would find that the cost per kilogram of meat was actually lower than market price, which immediately enticed many powers.

Of the 10 batches of magic beast meat, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps got 1 and Zi Di got another.

That was enough.

Magic beast meat had a shelf life and preserving it was quite troublesome.

The other 8 was partitioned up by the other powers.

This hearty feast was aptly named a bulk sale, nothing stood out, and nothing was scarce.

Many people were satisfied.

The auction hall grew more harmonious, with everyone enjoying themselves.

Of course, this ambience would not lead to high prices, therefore Hun Tong arranged to have this happen at the tail end of the auction.

Even if there was some bidding, all parties only fought a little, with one party conceding willingly and not deliberately hindering the other.

There were many things, and fighting was not necessary.

You have, I have, everyone has.

It was only when Zi Di bid were things different. When room 21 entered, they would immediately suffer blockades and all parties would maliciously raise the price, for the unity of will was an impregnable stronghold. They wouldn’t give up even when the auction price rose about market price.

Zi Di tried several times before simply laying down the flag.

In any case, the Dragon Lion Mercenary Corps had repeated success, and she didn’t need to waste money on this.

Seeing room 21 shrink back, many buyers were in a cheerful mood.

“We finally defeated them.”

“Everyone’s financial resources are limited, and at the end of the auction, they no longer have as much power.”

“This is the consequence of pushing into the limelight too much.”

The loners for the most part watched with folded arms, watching passively the mood of the auction’s participants.

They didn’t need such bulk sales.

After the foodstuff bulk sale was the alchemy material auctions.

Two fighters carried a large box onto the stage.

A single light beam shined on the wooden box, while the other lights went dark.

The wooden box slowly opened, exposing a small pile of metal ingots inside. Under the stage light, the metal ingots dazzled with a silver-white radiance.

Everyone’s eyes condensed onto these metal ingots.

Many hearts warmed and eyes lit up.

“As expected, it is Secret Silver ingots.” In room 21, Zi Di exposed a determined look.

Because the Bloodline Purification formation needed a large quantity of Secret Silver ingots.

Secret Silver was a type of rare metal, far more precious than gold. It was very light, it had a ductility comparable to bronze, yet it was harder than steel. In poetry, this metal was acclaimed to be “light as goose feathers, strong as dragon scales.” Although that was exaggerated rhetoric, it still illustrated a portion of truth.

Most crucial was that the Secret Silver possessed a formidable magical nature. It was very conductive of magic power.

Therefore, Secret Silver was almost always used to build magic items or was the main drawing material for formations.

There were so many places to use it.

That being said, even if the Bloodline Purification formation didn’t need it, Zi Di would still snap it up, for it was certain it would be used in the future.

The auction officially began.

The first box of silver ingots drew in panicked buyers.

The bids quickly rose, leading to a fierce contest between all parties.

As the price increases gradually stagnated towards the latter stages, Zi Di suddenly interjected with a high price.

“Hmph, it’s room 21 again?” Someone followed up fearlessly.

But Zi Di’s repeatedly large price rises revealed a determination to have it.

Superior financial resources defeated every competitor, even Hun Tong shook his head and gave up.

He held Two Eyes Island, if he lost this opportunity, he still had other stable channels to obtain Secret Silver ingots, he didn’t’ need to scramble for them.

“3, 2 ,1, bang.” The auction master finished counting down, “Congratulations to room 21 for purchasing this box of Secret Silver ingots.

Afterwards.

“Congratulations to room 21 for winning the Under Mountain Copper ingots.

“Congratulations to room 21 for obtaining three tons of Ocean Blue ore.”

“Let’s congratulate room 21 once again for becoming the new owner of this pile of obsidian!”

Zi Di acted again and again, buying large quantities of alchemy supplies.

During the food auction, Zi Di was subdued.  But this time, she displayed her grand and graceful bearing, and her wantonly purchasing loftily forced its way through others.

Besides the things she disliked, the vast majority of alchemy materials were claimed by her.

The other buyers who got nothing hatefully gnashed their teeth.

Many people began to establish ties and privately joined hands, yet even so, they were still no match for Zi Di’s resolve.

Another item was shown off in the great hall.

It was a small wooden box.

When the wooden box was opened, everyone saw that there was a pile of silver-blue metal ingots inside that had a particular luster.

“Essence Gold!” Zi Di’s eyes seemed to burn slightly.

Essence Gold was seldom produced and was rarer than Secret Silver. It possessed the same formidable magic affinity and was used more to forge weapons and armor.

Essence gold was heavier, and its greatest strength was its hardness!

Currently, it is popularly known as the hardest metal to exist. It was far harder than steel.
